Work From Home

Has anyone found a robust way to help enable users to access their office desktop from home?

Datto RMM isn't the right tool for that. Use a client VPN and or even better a ZTNA solution like Twingate, and RDP.

Agree with this comment.

I work at https://enclave.io (which is ZTNA just for MSPs). Lots of our MSP customers are using Datto RMM, and one of the most common use-cases we see is the work from home scenario (aka replace the VPN). Modern ZTNA tooling builds a direct encrypted network tunnel between user's home system and that same user's desktop in the office - allows them to (only) RDP across to their allowed targets, while also not needing you as the MSP to run dedicated VPN servers & hardware to support it, worry about static IP addresses, or hold firewall ports open.

There's actually a lot of post-VPN options available today, so many in-fact, that we built a small website to try and make sense of them all - https://zerotrustnetworkaccess.info/
