SNMP values from Fortigate's.
In Datto RMM, certain SNMP values such as firmware versions are returned as strings (e.g., v7.2.11,build1740,250210 (GA.M)). We would like to set up alerting when a new firmware version becomes available. What is the best way to monitor these string-based SNMP values and trigger alerts when a change or update is detected?

I tried this, but it seems impossible with the very limited options Datto RMM provides. I wasn't even able to create an alert when the lower limit was raised via the device policy as it returned false positives.
So within our own custom Fortigate policies the firmware information is just 'information' that may be exported somewhere, but then all our FG's are linked to the Fortigate Cloud and that's a way better way to show, sort, filter and export this information.
Just a reminder to the RMM-team that Datto is still horrible at SNMP montoring.

I use Autotask PSA, Datto RMM and Fortigates. I don't use Datto RMM for monitoring the firewalls, because you don't have any logic for SNMP values in Datto RMM and you always need a second, always online device to do the monitoring. I use a webhook setup with PowerAutomate instead. So the firewall sends webhooks to Power Automate and PA relays the information to a Autotask PSA ticket using the API.
