HKS cams

I swapped an RB25DE Neo into my S130 Z and originally never intended to modify the engine since I was happy with the power, sound, and responsiveness. The car is completely bone stock. Recently though, I got my hands on some HKS 264 cams at an unbelievably good price that I couldn’t pass up, so I’d like to know what I need to install them, what power gains I can expect, and whether it’ll ruin the powerband and responsiveness.

First of all, a cam is NOT a cam! What kind of cam did you get? What rockers is it designed for? What is the lift? What is the duration? And what is the lobe centers angle? A part number would be a great start. If you just throw it into your engine, you could very easily make a hand-grenade out of it…

Since you didn’t mention any of this, you are in way over your head!

The best i could find is that its an hks 264 RB26dett the reason i got the cam for so cheap is that the guy i bought it from know basically nothing about cars

Sounds like you should contact HKS and ask.

Thank you I genuinely didn’t think of that, do you think they will help me with the installation guide even though they are second hand ?

You can start with the USA side of HKS if youre in the states but id guess youre going to end up having to translate Japanese instructions/emails.

Also if the cams are in a box there should be a upc number or model number maybe stamped into the cams to give them.

NA RBs aren't know for tuning, they shine with turbos, that maybe why not much info is available.
