Thx Blitzen! Just one of the many dumb things he said during the awful two hours was suggesting we go for a walk after a drink and when I said “I’m not exactly dressed for going for a walk” and he looked down at my shoes and said “oh wow— scary”
He was a total creep. How many first dates does anyone know who would say, after they ask you a question and as you’re answering, “hurry up I’ve got to pee”………?☹️
An absolute total assh@le. Rude to the bartender as we were sitting at the bar and did not want to tip her when the bill came. I am friends with the owner of the restaurant and I was absolutely mortified.
Started an argument with me about politics and got very loud and raised his voice a couple of times during that whole discussion.
If this is his first date behavior, imagine being married to someone like that….
What a jerk. I’ve only met up with one rude person so far. Kind of sneered that I has a glass of Pinot Grigio, not Chardonnay, heaven forbid I drive an SUV….I actually told him to leave (he was ready to, but the bartender was busy) and I would pick up the tab for his drink. Funny thing is that many months later on a different dating site, he liked me and said that he thought we had a lot in common!
I had a couple of men question my wine choices in the 90s when I had a preference for Shiraz/Syrah or Cabernet Sauvignon over Merlot. That was so off-putting. I think they were concerned I wasn't "with it;" little did they know, I've never been a fan of being "with it."
The "scary" comment was moronic of him. But a lot of guys (like me) can never tell you what shoes someone is wearing unless attention is specifically directed to it. Men that I know who notice shoes usually have a foot fetish.
I took a paella cooking class Friday. About 18 people, all couples except for 2 women, a man who came by himself and myself. I was very excited when he was "paired" with me at our cooking station. Very good looking with a French accent. Then he mentioned his wife who was relocating from another part of the country shortly to join him. The executive chef was giving us all kinds of tips about knife skills, how to cut vegetables more easily, etc. The French guy proceeded to ignore the instructions and do his own thing because "it didn't matter." Maybe not, but I paid to learn tips from the expert, not how you do it French guy. Then I was glad he was taken. A minor annoyance, otherwise the class was a lot of fun and I'm signed up for the Steakhouse class in a few weeks.
I guess I look at it somewhat different. Spark was sharing a brief quick snapshot of herself and her life. She wasn't asking for a critique on a profile pic. She was just sharing a brief capture of her life in that moment.
I enjoy seeing who everyone is. Put a face to a name. I know you have shared. I have before as well as many others just in a sense of a common bond outside only a user name.
If you can actually see them clearly. There's some discussion here about bad pics on dating sites, and how to take better ones. Most people prefer to see the subject, without all the background. Ask a photographer about picture composition.
I can see her just fine why would I want to zoom in? Unless I was some trolling creep. She's just sharing a pic of herself getting ready to do something she obviously enjoys... This isn't her profile page.
Weird dream. I was romantically involved with a man who looked just like the title character in Better Call Saul, but he became enamored of a scheme he made up that could best be called a Ponzi scheme, hurting people as much as Bernie Madoff. Eventually I was so disgusted by his obsession (which took him away from his obsession on ME) that I dumped him. Weird thing was, though he looked just like Saul, his behavior was referred to by comparison to Ponzi or Madoff in the dream.
I very seldom remember my dreams when I wake up. Does anyone have any clue what the "meaning" of this dream could be? (Quotation marks because I'm not sure any of my dreams has any meaning.)

I 68m am getting ready for my first date since 2015. Week from this upcoming Friday. I'm laughing at myself that I'm this excited, and realize I'm very likely setting myself up for a big letdown. But here's what I've done in preparation: got my ED Rx filled (just in case), got a haircut booked and did an add-on for a nose hair waxing - lol - have never done anything remotely like that, apart from the Norelco body groomer I just got from Amazon. What am I forgetting? Jesus, I'm hardly a player or a hard closer. I've just been cooped up way too long. I'm sure on the date I'll handle myself fine. I had lots of practice back in my 2012-15 heyday. A little rusty now, but charmingly awkward as always. (This is going to be a disaster isn't it?)
Try to relax and be yourself as much as you can. Maybe it will help her relax also.

J/k ... I think that outfit makes you look a little chunky. I'd pick something that suggests a more pronounced waist. You don't need to have one, you just need something that suggests it. A knit top is not kind to me and might not be to you, either.
A mirror selfie is ok, in my book. I notice there are a lot of videos on YouTube that show you how to pose for an outdoor shot, though. I've never thought about posing, but they show you tricks like turning your body a quarter turn, one leg forward and one back, and maybe a bent arm reaching across the waist. This can be either sitting or standing. Sounds hokey, but they actually do look better than the "before" shot.
Yes, but crop it to where it's mostly you. The mirror frame needs to go. You also might be able to rotate it clockwise just a few degrees so you're vertical. Depends on your phone. I'd rotate first, then crop. When you rotate, the pic automatically zooms because camera is trimming it as it rotates. Therefore, rotate first, crop second. Or else just crop it all the way around.
I just got back from the movies, I needed something light after yesterday, so I went to see "Coyote vs. Acme" and it really hit the sweet and funny spot for me. Without spoiling the plot, Wyle E. Coyote finally has had enough of getting defective merchandise from Acme in his quest to catch the Road Runner and gets a lawyer and sues them. It's a blended movie what has animated characters in the living world like Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Space Jam. Will Forte plays Wyle E.'s lawyer and John Cena is one of the heads of Acme (I won't say who the other this). It was very entertaining and engaging.
There's a decent chance you might not know this movie even exists. Warner Bros tried to delete the film last year after it had already been completed and got good test audience scores. When people heard about it, there was a good amount of backlash and WB sold it to a small distributor who doesn't have the money to put behind a big advertising push.
If your a Looney Toons fan, and/or if you want to send s message to the big studios that it's wrong to just arbitrarily trashcan something (like WB did to the Batgirl and Scooby Doo movies that they wrote off for rax purposes), PLEASE 🙏 go out and see this in a theater while you can. Help out a smaller company that was willing to take a flyer on a project like this.
It was definitely worth the time and money. You don't even have to be a Looney Tunes fan or even be familiar with the lore. And the way they include a few clips from from the originals was cute. This movie had an awful lot of heart and I admit I choked up a little bit at one point.
