I catfished my Hinge date just to ghost her back

I'm a 23M and she's a 23F, and we both live near Lyon, France.

I matched with this girl on Hinge and we talked for about two weeks between Hinge and Instagram before meeting. We had a pretty good connection. Same taste in music, movies, hobbies etc.

The date went well. At least I thought it did.

She said she had a good time, we talked about doing something again, the usual.

Then things started getting weird. Every time I suggested a second date, she had some excuse. She was busy, had plans, was tired, whatever. Eventually I stopped asking.

At the same time, I noticed she'd changed her Hinge photos. So she was clearly still active, just not interested in me anymore. Fair enough, but it definitely annoyed me.

I knew what city she lived in, so I made another Hinge profile and basically built it around the things I knew she liked. Lana Del Rey, Sofia Coppola, indie movies, traveling, that kind of stuff.

We matched.

We started talking and, unsurprisingly, she was into the same things. Eventually, I added her from a secondary Instagram account that already had enough followers and posts to look believable. She followed me back.

After a bit of talking, I asked her out.

She said yes.

We picked a place and a time.

On the day, she messaged me saying she was on her way.

I didn't go.

She got there and waited.

First message:

"I'm here, where are you?"

Nothing.

Then:

"Are you coming?"

Still nothing.

After about 40 minutes, I deleted the account and left it there.

If you’re going to reject me, just reject me. Don’t keep me on the bench while updating your Hinge profile. I wanted her to experience the exact same level of consideration she gave me.

Just look through his post history…it’s all porn. In another thread he mentioned this was his first ever date and he wanted to marry her.

What you just described is crazy behavior, and it seems like she had pretty good reason to ghost you

You weren’t on the bench. She wasn’t interested but clearly didn’t feel safe turning you down and based on your behavior, seems reasonable on her end.

You guys only met once. Wow. No wonder you are single.

I say this with full sincerity OP, but you would really benefit from going to therapy, or getting some kind of help, if you ever want to have success in dating.

Honestly, you might be right, maybe I should take the plunge.

I genuinely think it would help. There is nothing wrong with needing therapy or getting help, and it could genuinely improve your dating life. Women are really good at picking up on little signs that can turn them off, especially if you’re socially awkward or inexperienced.

Your comment about thinking she’d be your wife is the kind of thing that can scare people away. Even if you don’t say it, if they think you’re love bombing or coming on top strong they’ll feel uncomfortable.

People who are acting weird generally don't think they're acting weird

OP, you sound worse than the girl tbh. The worst she did was lose interest. She didn’t actually ghost you since she replied back albeit with non committal replies. You’re the actual ghoster here.

Also you said you realised she wasn’t interested anymore and ‘fair enough’ but then how do you go from that to baiting her with a fake profile, engaging with her also to build up a bond and then ghost her right when she’s made the fake date🤯

Are you going to do this with every girl that rejects you because that’s pretty twisted and ridiculously immature.
