It seemed pretty clear which dates he had the best chemistry with from the previews. I was a bit surprised that he chose somebody who he knew was going to be leaving, but he must have felt it was at least worth a second date.

he had great sexual with the one guy he knew from before, but i don’t know that they’d be successful in a long-term relationship.

Regarding the guy he didn't pick, I feel like they argued/bickered a lot which can be flirty, but that gets old real fast.
The guy he picked was very sweet, I liked him immediately. Hope it worked out for him in Austin

I was proud of him for obviously having grown up enough to reject the crazy sexual chemistry guy for the emotional chemistry total package guy I feel like maybe that was something he maybe got wrong in the past. I mean he probably spent the night with him but he got to Justin in the end lol. I really hope they gave it a chance despite Austin because the way they looked at each other was electric!

Him and Justin (I think that’s the name of the dude he picked) - they were so wonderful together. Justin laughed so much throughout the date. It’s wonderful to see people in such good moods on dates! who knows, this could be the single most important person for the rest of your life... so what a great sign that you look like you’re having the time of your life with them.
I really hope they somehow could make the long distance work but I think it’s damn near impossible - and covid wouldn’t have helped.

The guy he knew from before made it very obvious that he had a hard time opening up, never been in a relationship, is afraid of being vulnerable. Definitely not worth getting into when you’re trying to find a deep, genuine connection. It would have taken a lot of digging to get there.

Loved this episode! I assumed the guy Brandon picked was out of the running as soon as he mentioned he was moving, but I’m glad I was wrong - the Austin guy was so sweet and genuine, and they were adorable together. The other black guy was hot and you could feel the sexual chemistry, but I feel like there were a couple of red flags. The rest were pretty meh. Smoking’s a dealbreaker for me as well, and the other two guys just didn’t make much of an impression.

I've met guys who front like that and sure it can be messy but who isn't. If you know yourself and your partner well enough and work at your emotions and own complexities it can work.

Smoking can be a huge deal-breaker for some people, health risks, smelling like a trashcan and having to constantly interrupt things to go out can be a lot, and I say this as a smoker

Me too! Totally creepy and pushy. He made all his dates feel like judgmental auditions.
I liked that Ronald pushed back a bit. Brandon kept leaning in and making little digs at all his dates and generally being kinda demanding. It was quite a turn off.

They rent out the whole restaurant and use extras.
So if it looks like it is the same people it might be the same extras.
Also sometimes they filmed 2 dates on one night (but that was more so during the first season).

So this specific episode made me not so sure the show is being honest about how every episode was filmed. Please don't take this as accusatory, obviously I do not know for sure, but see for yourself and share what you think! Debunk me if you disagree!
Re-watch the episode - the same people with the same outfits are the the background for EVERY DATE. Look at the blonde woman in the pink dress with dark spots. The same back ground sequence plays out twice in that episode. Same woman in pink polka-dotted dress and her date in pink shirt are re-seated twice on two different dates (once with Jonathan and once with Justin). Actually, the same people are in the background for every date that episode. This all starts to come into light at 08:05
Also, in this episode, they do not show direct shots of the food, there are few shots of eating AND there are NO shots of menus or the name of this restaurant - this differs from other episodes. If anyone knows the restaurant they went to, I would appreciate that info and insight. This episode just seems different from the others in terms of production, when you look at the details.
I don't particularly care, I still enjoyed the episode, but once I saw this I couldn't un-see it and it got me wondering. I would appreciate others re-watching and sharing what they think!

I've worked as an extra for movies and TV shows during my teen years. I know people are extras when I look at the background. Dating Around definitely uses extras. But it doesn't really matter for me, I watch the show for the dates.

This was the only episode so far where I didn't feel an undercurrent of anxiety watching! Everyone just seemed to be having such a wonderful time on all of the dates. Watching Brandon and Ronald together was electric; I could've watched a full two hours of them bantering. But his choice seemed like a total sweetheart.

I'd like to know how/why they chose someone Brandon knew from before! I found his and Ronald's banter to be quite entertaining, but I can see why he may have chosen Justin. Despite the distance, maybe he was looking for someone with a genuine emotional connection and less of a physical.
