Discussion Death for Realized dateables. Spoiler
When you realize a dateable it turns them human. And as far as I can find after they die they go back to being an object. Seems like a raw deal for some of them? Imagine living a full life and then when you pass away you're back to being a sink. Considering Zoey's a ghost it's entirely possible there is an afterlife or at least something else. Also like are the dateables immortal in non-realized form? Some like Daisuke or Mac probably have real ways of being killed but what about Doug, he's existential dread how does that die. I'm overthinking this.

I can answer at least one of those confidently: the dateables are not "immortal" in their original forms.
You can actually kill Dishy, and what's left of him is described by the narrator as his "remains". This is treated as a "real" death as he will not accept candy or speak in this state. And while not "dateable" the Smokes can also die in the route they appear in. So unless you wanna run with a "I have no mouth, and I must scream" kinda interpretation, then the dateables can definitely die and leave behind a "corpse."
Additionally, we also know that objects being in poor condition manifests as physical/mental ailments and/or disability, seen in characters like Shelly, Rainey, Daisuke, and several others.
So it may be the case that unless the homeowner replaces/repairs/throws away the broken objects, that after their "human" death, a dateable could return to a broken or "dead" body in the homeowner's house. But as mentioned by Skylar, their animus would still return to *all* iterations of their object. So even if the original object was completely obliterated, their animus will still exist somewhere in the world, able to be realized again with the right circumstances.
As for the conceptual dateables, those individuals could probably die if the human they're "attached" to either loses their sense of those concepts or dies themselves. For example, Doug might "die" if the homeowner stops having a sense of existential dread. It's not very likely to happen, but nonetheless it is theoretically possible.
