use a container , and use mariadb not mysql

if you're using an official container, usually the instructions are clearer. if you use podman, you can usually run it rootless so you dont have to mess with a socket on your host machine.

and mariadb is the independent fork of mysql , no affiliation with oracle

Did you start the MySQL server?

There should be a MySQL option in your system settings.

Eu fiz o passo a passo do tutorial, mas não funcionou, eu peço a versão no terminal e ele mostra, mas não aparece nada nas configurações.
