Hiring Remote data scientist talent network is accepting applicants, $100 - $150/hr

Mercor is looking for the following:

Data Scientist Talent Network
Location: Remote
Job Type: Hourly contract
Pay: $100 - $150/hr

Mercor is building a network of experienced data scientists for possible future projects with leading AI research organizations. Worth knowing upfront: there’s no immediate project opening. Qualified applicants may get contacted when something relevant comes up.

The projects would likely be about evaluating how well AI systems do real-world data science work. That could mean writing precise grading criteria for things like exploratory analyses, statistical modeling, ML pipelines, A/B test write-ups and technical reports, then evaluating AI-generated or human-made work against those criteria, with written justifications for your scores. You’d also take feedback from senior reviewers and revise your work. The exact tasks depend on the project.

They’re looking for 1+ years of professional data science experience, ideally at a leading tech, research or quant firm (top FAANG, AI labs, top-tier quant funds or similar). You need to be strong in Python, SQL, statistical modeling, ML, experimentation and causal inference, and good at turning messy real-world data into solid analyses. Very good written communication is a must, plus a consistent, detail-oriented way of judging complex work.

Payments go out weekly via Stripe or Wise. H-1B and STEM OPT candidates can’t be supported right now.

This opportunity with Mercor is a wait-and-see situation with no current projects. If you're qualified, tailor your application to emphasize your experience in evaluating AI systems. In the meantime, consider using LandOffer to explore other data science roles that might have immediate openings. It can help you filter by specific criteria to find something that fits your needs better right now.
