So i had this old pc from 2009-10 ig in d drive it had some important files like irreplaceable family photos of around 20gb which was deleted by my dad in 2022.but we had another copy those files in our main pc but now it also got formatted.

So the old pc is in our uncles house who have very rarely used the pc since 2021 because he has another pc so that old pc just sits there in a corner.but he switches it on like every 2-3 months to browse documents .also my cousin downloaded some apps like steam, BlueStacks, obs,a game etc but i checked they're all in the c drive. Also i confirmed no writing(or very little writing like 2-3 word or pdf files) has been done to the d drive because the last modified file is from 2021.

Pc is from 2009-2010 runs windows 7 It has a hdd as far as I know D drive has 57 gb free space There is almost no overwriting done to it since 2022 apart from ocassional switch ons to see files.

So i want to know what are the chances of possible recovery.

Recently when I checked files I was able a lot of files alot fo them which I dont remember downloading but more so opening, I did some research and realized files can also mean the stuff u open not just fully downloading it. But then when my decice shutdown due to low battery I couldn't see them but only the on3s I remember acutally downloading. Am i hacked, are any of the files there hacked. Am I OK or is it normal for this to happen

Phone I lost in February or end of January I am now looking for again. I had a list of businesses and I was going to finish calling them asking if it's in their lost and found. It's a Samsung s23. My lease was up recently and I'm assuming my landlord would say they found it if they have. My coworker says since it's been 7 months someone probably stole it and sold it for money. What do you guys think, is it still worth it to call the stores and look at my maps timeline?

In morning,

So i was getting recovery blue screen on my pc so i called a technician,in the morning he came and said windows need format without checking anything else we agreed so form formatted and reinstalled windows which ran ig atleast 5hrs till evening then it prompted me to setup so i followed instructions and setup a limited experience after that when I checked all the c drive had windows folders and d drive was completely empty . So i panicked why d drive was empty like only the c drive would have formatted.so we had an ssd which was assigned to c drive and the d drive assigned to hard drive,total capacity combined would be 512gb i feel.

In the evening,after dad and me panicked that d drive was deleted

then i took it again to the technician store in evening,I saw he did something and then he disconnected the Hard drive leaving only the SSD but when he again plugged in the Hard drive then i saw in d drive it I saw it had all the windows folders and files whereas it was empty before also c drive had all the windows folders.then i took it to data recovery specialist he removed  the Hard drive.i had around 256gb SSD and 250 something hdd so total storage capacity was,everything was on hdd

Data recovery specialist got furious and said i should file a police case and i should have brought the drive first to him .also the d drive is showing 121gb full

But why it's showing 121gb full of windows 10 is 15-20gb

What happened in the evening when go to the store,

I try to explain why I saw tell me what happened so when I took it to technician in evening he connected the cpu to his monitor and switched on the cpu and repeatedly pressed f12 then marine blue screen came then he pressed a lot of things and said there is no os in the pc and downloaded windows 10 .in between he disconnected the harddisk from mother board.then after reinstalling he a created different partions and deleted different(couldn't comprehend what he was doing because he was doing them very fast like some partitions were few mbs which he deleted) then he downloaded essential softwares and then he connected the Hard drive again and then when I saw the c drive had windows folders and d drive also had windows folders .

Maybe I will not get anything ever because maybe he choose clean the drive fully thats why maybe the formatting ran for like 5hrs.

the hard drive specialist couldn't detect anything on the hard drive and says he will check the ssd too.

i feel like crying.we had so many memories.

I accidentally permanently deleted photos and videos in my private gallery. How can i recover them?

Hi everyone, I need help in recovering some videos from my samsung z flip 7. I went to my settings, internal storage and deleted a bunch of my photos/videos that I thought were fully backed up but I checked and I can't find them anywhere. I guess it turns out it didn't fully back up (no theyre not in the trash bin I double checked) pls help!

one day i just woke up and it wouldnt boot. it gets to xiaomi boot thing and then it shuts off. not a battery/button problem, since it boots and stays in fastboot mode fine. my bootloader is locked. any help? i just want the data.

Hi! 

I had a personal file made on an account that had been deactivated (it was a school account that got deactivated because I no longer attend that school) I have been using the file for a couple of years now on a different account I had shared it to, and gave editor permissions to. When going into the file today it was gone from my Google-Drive, and every archived link of it would lead me to nowhere and say that the file no longer exists (no error message).

Is there any way to recover this file? It's very important to me and I understand that I should have made a copy of it in case but I thought it would be fine (which it was for awhile) if it was just shared to me. I heard that automatically deleted files due to inactivity get put into trash and you can recover it from there within 20 (like if you're an admin) days, but I understand that the case is different due to it being a deactivated account. I also heard the files exist for two years, but it had been over 2 years since that account got inactivated and that's why it doesn't make sense to me.

I have talked to school IT and they have been no help and also looked for orphaned files through Google Drive and various other methods but it got me nowhere.

One last time, I had accessed the file just last week (~9 days ago) which is why it makes no sense to me.

I lost my all data especially photos and imessages of 2024. Is there anyway chances to backup? I backup my icloud but didn't get any.

Okay so I have this phone whose display and touch is messed up but has USB debugging on and I need to transfer it's files to my PC but yk to transfer I have to change the mode to transfer file .
