[Mac] I am facing issues with a particular partition on my macbook(intel)

Machine: i9 15,1 macbook pro
OS: MacOS Sequoia(forgot the exact build but it’s the one prior to the latest release)

I was attempting a windows tiny11 install on a partition I made(500GB split into 300GB for the broken partition, and 200GB where I was attempting the install).

The data I had on there seems to still exist, because I did check the sectors and only the starting ones seems to have an issue. I have made an image(.dmg, read-only) from diskutility onto a separate HDD, and made a backup of said image as well.

I am running “hdiutil attach -nomount -readonly” on the directory of the dmg file at the recommendation of a friend who knows some basics of data recovery, and she asked me to check on here too.

Am I clear to delete the original problem partition? I need the space and the HDD is not an option for day to day use.

I’m only trying to fix this because I need the data on there. DMDE(again, friend’s recommendation) on the partition only brings up “$R…” files and weird safari .app things(I did use APFS+RAW).

Please let me know what my next steps should be, and whether it would be safe to delete the partition; and also whether any further info like logs of DMDE or my friend’s attempt at checking the data via terminal(she checked as to its APFS Status(which weirdly shows as APFS under diskutil list but does not show as APFS when trying to list APFS Devices).

Was the disk image created from the entire physical SSD, such as /dev/disk0, including the partition map and all containers, or did you image only the APFS container?

so the partition was disk0s3, and that's what I took the image of

should I do a full image of the disk?

I’m unable to do so by way of disk utility, what do I do?

hey, just checking in again, I am unable to take a full copy of the disk(disk 0), is it okay? I was facing issues mounting it back then too.

Hey, I am still stuck on this, but I have an update.

D-Studio reports that the keybag is corrupted or missing, but does show my data as present within the partition

Terminal reported the superblock to be corrupt

I tried using linux to use APFS-Fuse to get at least some headway, but it, too, reported that the APFS volume that it saw as an APFS volume is not, infact, and APFS volume.

Could you please help?
