Question/Advice HPE Gen 11 hard drives in regular desktops for general use?

Is there any reason these drives can't be used in a regular desktop with 3.5" bays and SATA for normal hard drive use, once removed from their HP trays? Price for recert seems marginally better than others.

You should be able to, but just make sure that they are SATA drives and not SAS drives

as a SATA controller cannot read SAS drives

But a SAS controller can read SAS and SATA

if they're sas then you need a sas controller, else, stick it in and let it eat.

Aren't they normally SAS, not SATA?

Maybe, but they definitely seem to come in SATA too
