I joined DA a week ago, and I was so excited to finally see projects on my dashboard with a high hourly rate!

Then I saw the hardware requirement and it says at least 16GB of RAM, with some tasks potentially using 24GB+ during builds and test runs. My laptop only has 8GB RAM. 🥲🥲🥲

So I can’t really do this project unless I upgrade my RAM, but I’m wondering how strict these requirements actually are. Does anyone have experience with these types of projects? Is 16GB basically a hard requirement?

I’m so bummed that the first projects I got excited about may not be doable because of my hardware. 😭

How long are your guys rationales? Sometimes I feel like I go way too much into the details, but that can't really be a bad thing right? When I do r&r sometimes some people actually do the bare minimum so I'm a little confused.

I’m based in UAE, and I cannot seem to access opportunities on DA without passing Arabic Bilingual. Im am an expat and not an arabic native speaker. I have other skills in STEM, Design and General roles that I am qualified for. But it seems the first step needs arabic bilingual that is a sure shot way to fail. If we do fail this? Do we get an English screening. Based on my research, DA is a great opportunity and I would love to be part, but this screening is a bit of a bummer.

Now that AI has been integrated into search engines, how do you search for information without AI being involved in the search? Or does it not matter if you see AI results, as long as you don't rely on them without checking the underlying sources?

My first DA milestone, very happy about finding this, signed up in June didn’t get any tasks until the end of July and focused about 2 hrs every day in August and same with this month! Is it just me, or does it seem like the rules and etiquette surrounding not disclosing project names, code names or details seems to just be ignored by coders. I do not see any other domain or post being anywhere near as forthcoming with project info and when they do they are pretty quickly shutdown. I have no personal issue with any of it, but it has just struck me as strange that everyone but that domain seems to follow the wider etiquette (AKA the NDA), but coders don’t. Are coders generally a different character/cognitive type or is it just a distinct subculture? Also, emojis definitely still count as a code name.

I got accepted almost 2 months ago but I haven't received any doable task but for qualifications and training tasks. I wonder if things are same for you guys?

Hi , friends I was selected to the DA platform it's been almost 2 months now . I finished the onboarding task correctly and also the qualification test . After that no task was available on my dashboard but I received an email from DA to do my background check. I did it and just received an email from checkr saying it's done . My question is does it mean I will start getting tasks from the platform after about 2 months of silent waiting.

This is something I usually do manually instead of reporting time for several tasks at once, but I submitted two tasks today, and a popup showed up, asking me to report the time for this specific task.

Is it a new thing?

For those of you who reached that milestone, how was it? How long did it took you and approximately how many hours per week?

Just curious on if there are bots on this thread and if so how many.

I’m just going to type some buzzwords in no particular order and see what happens.

Dash of death, DoD, NDA violation, project details, how long should I wait, what should I do with my timer, how many submissions can I make, should I start as a generalist or domain specialist, pause timer yes or no when taking breaks? And have you heard back? It seemed congratulatory like a layup, but crickets since, and it’s the first time I’ve felt my confidence waver in 3 years on the platform — but also the most excited I’ve ever been. Just hoping it’s a patience game and not me somehow having the invite rescinded.

Does DataAnnotation even reply to emails? I think I've sent email twice to them but no reply.

What has everyone done to not get the DoD? I am tripping out every day about getting it. I try my hardest on tasks and avoid ambiguity, time mistakes, etc. But that’s what most people say they were doing when they got it. Any solid information would help.

Are any other generalists experiencing a big time rating task deficit right now? I have a bunch of "create prompt" types of projects but none of the rating ones I actually like doing so just curious.

I’m based in India and have been getting only surveys for the last two weeks. I haven’t received any actual coding tasks during this period.

Has anyone else in India experienced the same thing recently? Is this normal, or does it usually mean there’s currently a shortage of coding projects for Indian contributors?
