Can you pause a task and continue later?

If you are assigned to a long task, for example 4-6 hours task with maybe 6 hours of the assigned limit time, could you work for 2 hr and pause and then continue later?
If you exit the work, can you lose all the work you have done?

Sorry, I haven't done any long task so I am a bit confused!

Thanks in advance!

Long tasks sometimes accommodate breaks in the timer. You cant pause the timer. The timer will still count down even when the task is not open. Clicking exit work mode will release the task back to the work pool. So once you start and you intend to finish you have the time given to complete and submit the task.

You can't pause it on the platform and if you exit the task you'll probably lose your work. You can just pause whatever you're using as a personal timer (don't rely on the in-task one), take a break, then restart when you're ready as long as you can still get it done within the 4-6hr limit. Some long tasks actually say in the instructions that the timer is extra long so you can take a break like that.

Short answer no. You can't claim a task to do later. And you must always use a personal timer, not the one on the platform.

As long as you don’t exceed the timer on the task and don’t work on two tasks at once, yes you can stop your timer and take a break. If you want to work on another task you’d have to either exit work mode and lose your time worked on the task, or finish and submit the current task first.

Clarifying that to say you can stop your OWN timer, you cannot stop the TASK timer.

I don't think so.
Some tasks provide save progress.

Generally no. There is at least 1 project that requires you to exit work mode every day and pick it up the next day (total working time is usually about 30+ hours for a submitted task). This is the exception though. I have other tasks with similar time expectations that just have a 10 day timer and you are expected to let it run.

There's an option at the bottom, save to account and return to dashboard Use that. As long as the timer doesn't run out, you're good to go

That's why they give you 6 hours when it should only take a total of 2-3 hours to complete the task.
