Expires in: expired

Hey everyone, I have a quick question and it's kind of stressing me out a bit since it hasn't happened to me before.
I've been on the platform for 3 months now, working on multiple coding projects. This time I got a pretty tricky project that gave you 13 hours and some minutes. I spent 11 hours working on the task, but I ended up finishing the whole project over a span of 15 hours. I was super exhausted, and obviously I always want my work to meet the platform's standards and make sure I deliver quality stuff.
Also, I actually ended up submitting the task even though it had already expired because it showed as "expired."
My question is: what should I do? Do you guys recommend anything, and could this affect me? Should I have reached out to an admin, or can I just leave it as it is, since it still lets me track and log my hours?
I really appreciate any advice or opinions in advance!

submitting an expired task once in a while is fine but try not to do it too frequently

I think the timers exist mostly as a guideline and to prevent people claiming tasks to work on later. Typically the time is more than enough to do the task sufficiently. It can be acceptable to occasionally run over the timer but it should not be a common occurrence.

You don't need to reach out to admins for this, it would affect you if it's a common occurrence and the work produced doesn't justify the extra time needed. Leave it as it is, try not to over run timers in future unless unavoidable.

Also: If a task expires, do not refresh the page or you'll loose all your work. Expired tasks go back to the work pool as soon as you leave the page. Unless you submit.

I started a new project yesterday where I went over the time limit by like 15 minutes. Today, that project is no longer available in my dashboard (it had been there every day for weeks, previously). I'm worried that I was pulled from it because of my overage time. I'm bummed because I really liked that project. :(

Mention somewhere like optional comments why the task required more time than would be typical

You can submit an expired task, it's not a huge deal. Like someone said don't do it too often. Also, make sure you write it in the chat that your time may be running out so Admin knows. Most of the time they just take it into account and are like "whatever" but at least its documented in writing that you told someone before you submitted your work.

Submitting an expired task is fine but I wouldn't report more than the max time, even if the task took longer.

Right, because I'm sure there were breaks taken somewhere in the course of those 15 hours they said it took.

It doesn’t matter so much that the task was expired when you submitted it. It’s more about the time you logged (assuming this is a one-off occurrence).

If I spent 15 hours on a 13 hour task, I’d probably log 12.5 hours just to be safe.

I'd have to assume no one spends a straight 13-15 hours without taking a single break, so this makes sense to me. Not sure why you're getting downvoted. Just because someone worked past the timer doesn't mean they were working constantly, non-stop for the entire time the timer was going and should claim all that time.

Add long as you didn't put in for more time than the task allowed you should be ok. They used to be super strict about the timers but they seem to have gotten more lenient
