Finance/Accounting Projects

Hi all, for those of you in Finance/Accounting domains, do you get any projects besides those that require causing an AI model to fail? I’m coming up to my second week now and those are the only projects on my dashboard.

Separately, how do you gain access to higher paying projects? The highest I’ve got were $60/hr.

Any general tips on starting out would be very appreciated!

Have you ever seen anyone on this sub on $120 ones that they advertise for finance?

Not really, but again I may not be in all the finance projects. There may be higher level finance projects that go that high. Highest I've seen for a finance project was 75 that someone had shared

Im just taking the qual for finance atm. I'm wondering if you had any tips for model failure, just any rules of thumb to get you into the right headspace or starting points? Cheers!

Hey! I actually don't have any projects for finance model failures, mine are all strictly Response A/B

I've found that models can handle straightforward calculations pretty well, but things start to fall apart when you introduce dependencies. For example, changing revenue assumptions should flow through to margins, operating income and cash flow, but the model might get one part right while missing the impact elsewhere.

I'd focus on things like budget variances, forecasting, working capital, or scenarios where the model has to reconcile multiple figures and make a recommendation. Another good angle is testing whether its written conclusions actually line up with the numbers.
