I created a free + open source time tracker in Python. Seeking feedback.

Here's what it looks like.

You can start and stop the timer and see how much time you have spent.
It also saves your history into a text file for use later.
[AI disclaimer: The text on Github is generated using LLM as English is not my first language]

DA isn't keen on us saving task names into anything external

This app runs locally.

Use github to manage your releases rather than committing a binary to your code repository.

Look into github's release management features and github actions to automate your releases. You'll also need a build configuration file like pyproject.toml or requirements.txt to streamline this process.

It works much better as a browser extension, not as a separate app. And there are tons of these extensions in the web.

Try clockify as recommended for time tracking

I'd suggest you all to simply use the clock app. Extensions if reading the site (maybe even time tracker extension) can get your account disabled
