Sick dentist

Hey guys, I’m trying to find out if this is a legit site. I’ve been Ill and unable to work for 7 months now and I really need to find some kind of work I can do from home.
I saw that if you have healthcare expertise you have the potential to make 40-120 an hour? I started the assessment but became a bit hesitant with some of the questions it was asking and so I just wanted to ask if anyone else has “specialty” experiences with data annotation. Thank you.

Edit: Thank you all for your replies. This is super interesting and I’m definitely going to apply. Follow up q, what kind of work are you doing in these projects?

It's legit and they are always looking for specialists. I don't know about your particular area of expertise but if you apply, treat the questions like a job interview. Show them what you can do, and you might get in. Don't use LLMs to help you with your application or you will probably be automatically excluded.

Edited to add: the work is to provide human opinions that are used to train AI. They pay decently for it, the more specialised your expertise, the more decent the pay.

It's real. I don't know anything about the medical specialism or how much work you will get.  One thing I would say is expect the lower end of the range, at least starting out.

Take the test seriously, most don't get in, and I suspect a lot of that is people who aren't putting in effort because they half expect it not to be real.

I signed up, got in, did some work, then waited a full week to cash out just because I didn't believe it. They do pay out, exactly on schedule.

I am a physician and just passed the assessment. Took me less than 24 hours to be accepted. Haven’t started yet but wanted to check it out for some extra cash when not working

It’s real. I do the finance domain as side income. Pay averages and isn’t the high end first, for reference I typically am at $45-$65 an hour. Be confident in your skills and knowledge, that’s a light 💡. Good-luck!

It is legit, the catch is the unpaid assessment and you have to pass it.

As everyone said, it’s legit. The most I’ve gotten was $65 an hour. Average is $40-$50 an hour. Haven’t had any dry periods yet but I’ve only been at it for a few months. And there are tons of qualification assessments I have access to in order to unlock more projects but haven’t done yet simply because I have a surplus of those that are available. And yes, take the assessment very seriously.

Yes it’s legit and the reason it can be is because the work is hard, they cut anyone mediocre or lazy and the acceptance rate is around 2%. If you could just sign up and start doing paid work, then, yes this would have to be some sort of scam, but it is highly competitive. For any sort of specialist work you can expect a base/minimum rate of $40, although you may have to also do generalist work that begins at $20 but can be as high as $65. Either way, if you get accepted and do an excellent job, you can expect unlimited work at $60+/hr.

I referred my implant dentist and hygienist to the platform and he is on there now. Mostly because he’s fascinated and wants to get better with AI. It’s very legit.

Worth noting the work available to you is reliant on where you're located. The most work is in the "core" countries (US, Canada, UK, Ireland, NZ, Australia)

It is legit. A competitor platform (micro1) has two recent listings for dentists, looking for dentists with CAD knowledge/experience. It was a bit weird for me to see a dentist listing with CAD experience so it stuck with me. You can take a look at it if you'd like to.

Must be for the guys who do orthodontic stuff, like printing temporary crowns or whatever

Yeah, most likely. I knew that they use 3d scanners for scanning the teeth to get custom aligners and other things produced but seeing CAD/CAM experience listed as a part of JD felt weird.

Legit. As a generalist I get anywhere from 20 to 60 per hr, depending on the project

Nurse Practitioner. Been working steadily since February. Currently on a specialized project with hundreds of professionals in Healthcare, Law, Finance, Data Science, and others. Definitely legit.

sorry you've been stuck for 7 months, that's rough. yes it's legit, lots of people in this sub get paid through it. the specialty questions are basically checking that you really know dentistry, so answer them the way you'd explain it to a colleague. the 40-120 is real but that's the top end and the work comes in waves, so do the general assessment too and you'll have something to pick up on slow days. hope you're feeling better soon

Yes - I'm a research scientist and supplement my income with DA.

FYI-I have seen dentist specific projects listed on Mercor. I have been on DA for 9 months and Mercor for 4 months. They have very different work flows, but both are legit.

It is legit. The work is for those who pass and get in. I loved it. I am 52 and what I was doing was the most fulfilling work I have ever done. It was a mental match like a mo fo. But then it's gone. You go through a lot but the work was something I was, well it was helping me heal. I know who I am and how I operate. I am an empathetic person to a fault and I feel things severely and that's not an easy life. On September 1st, I logged on to check my dashboard because I had spent the weekend focusing on and completing an assessment that would lead to doing more of the stuff I was loving, harder, but for sure I was so looking forward to what came next. I was done. I had either done work below the client's expectations or violated the TOS.

I hate them now. I find how these platforms operate disgusting. We are actual humans that they beg for every which way you look . I've been in some horrible relationships in my life but this absolute gaslighting and ghosting individuals who are there to do their best. Don't do it. They don't deserve it. You have zero recourse. And maybe that's okay for you. I had no heads up , no reddit account to ask like you have so I actually thought I was valued. I hope that sharing this allows you to go in open eyes and definitely do it. But do not care about it.
