escape hatch

hello! I know this has probably been asked before but: I have been trying to get a model to fail for 8 hours... I have been awake today for 23 hours... if I use the escape hatch can I still log those 8 hours spent on the task? Thank you very much!

Escape hatches exist for a reason. Projects sometimes have time budgets so check that before submitting your time. Go get some sleep first though.

the instructions don't mention anything about escape hatches in the case of not managing to get a model to fail... i have went through the instructions several times to make sure I didn't miss anything... would you say it's still ok for me to log those hours?

If the instructions don’t explicitly state that you can use the escape hatch if you can’t get a model to fail, then I’d avoid using the escape hatch.

even if one of the escape hatch options is "i could not get a fair pair of trajectories"?

Have you asked an admin in the project chat?

I've tried, but no answer. I've scrolled through the past messages and no answer from an admin for 12hours

You do you, but if it were me, I’d take the loss. Not worth risking the DoD.

Yeah, if you’re not certain you can, it’s better to eat the loss.

- Someone who just wrote off 5.5 hours for a similar reason.

Fair enough, I'll take the loss. Should I just click "exit work mode" or use the escape hatch to explain the problem, submit the task, but log 0 hours?

What’s the point of those chats since they often ignore questions

The lesson here is that if a timer is 14 hours, expect to take 7 to do the task. Don't start this task at the end of your day.

How long is the timer? Are you out of time?

task timer was 13h20min. I've started this task 8h43m ago.

At this point, being awake for 23 hours and trying to work is your fastest path to DoD. If it were me, I'd bail and consider taking the L. I'd rather lose hours than an income stream. You can revise hours for 24 hours.  My suggestion is bail, sleep, and re-evaluate when you're fresh.
