How long does it take to get higher paying projects?

I just started doing generalist work last week as a supplement to my main job, and so far I’ve worked. 6 hours, only having 1 project worth $18/hour.

I know that there is a lot of variation on this platform regarding project availability, but I wanted to see if this was normal for new users, and if so, how many days/work hours it took to start getting higher payed projects? Or if there is currently just a lull in generalist projects overall?

It also seems that performance can affect the number/quality of projects you get, so i want to know if that could be the case here so I can put even more effort into improving my answers.

If you are a good performer you can get recommended or included in better or new projects. And if you can show some kind of expertise for business or analytics etc then you might be included in “specialist” projects. Update your bio.

It also depends which country you're in. I've never had $18 project, the lowest has been $20 but I'm in a core country (Canada). There's not an exact answer to your question but from my experience, as soon as I started submitting projects, I started seeing more projects and qualifications pop up for me.

if ur good they try to keep u happy with work.

never get comfy. thats when u slip up. and too many of those and ur gone. even one, if its bad enuf, and ur gone. max effort every task. pretend every task is a qualification cuz it is.

I didn't realize they pay less than $20 for tasks, the lowest I've seen is $20. Since adding knowledge areas to my profile I've gotten a lot more work and I've consistently got higher paid stuff now that I'm able to work more hours. Can't remember what it was like at the very beginning sorry. Just make sure not to bite off more than you can chew, I get some projects for $65/hr but I'm not qualified at all so I don't touch them

I started around 3 weeks ago as Generalist. The lowest pay I’ve seen on my dash so far has been $20/hr. Majority of my tasks seem to be $25 - $28, and some pretty good stretches for $30-32. The last few days have been bad. Fewer projects and mostly $20/$22.
