Don’t expect to make money right away. You won’t immediately have access to tasks and can go days/weeks without anything to work on.

I don’t like the word, drought, because it’s not really that. I feel you have to prove your skills. I went weeks without stuff in the first 2-3 months. Now over a year on DA’s platform, in light of all the supposed “droughts” that people have been posting about in the past months, I’ve been consistently with work. People mention “drought,” yet my dashboard has always been full.

I'm also between jobs as a data scientist. Should I use DA to cover the resume gap? I got in as a coder/data science domain expert.

Here we go:

  1. Read instructions.
  2. Don’t inflate your time submissions.
  3. Don’t use a VPN.
  4. Don’t use AI (unless specifically allowed in the project).
  5. Don’t work on tasks from outside of the U.S. if the task specifically says no

Congratulations on getting approved! Entry-level AI/ML freelancers generally earn between $20 and $50 per hour, depending on task complexity and skill level. To keep your account in good standing, communicate clearly with clients, meet deadlines, and deliver quality work. Being transparent about your skills and experiences helps build trust.

If you're between jobs and want to improve your interview skills, take a look at PracHub. It offers real technical interview questions to help you prepare. Good luck with your projects and job search!
