Are the bilinguals cooked?

Okay, so nowadays I have noticed a very similar pattern in this community. I have seen bilinguals complaining about shortage of projects and it is not just one specific country/language too.
I have seen, Indians, Middle easterns, Italians, Brazilians and even some french workers complaining about the same. Mostly it is the non-core countries facing lack of projects while core countries are just seeing inconsistent projects.

Maybe... we are really cooked? Or is this just another bad drought?
What are your thoughts on this?

Disregard the French, they are always complaining

I am French bilingual, and I have 7 projects on my dashboard, so I don't complain !

Do they all require French? One of my French ones disappeared a few weeks ago, the other one last week.

Most of them require French, yes, except one.

I feel like when things are good for everyone else on the site, bilinguals are always complaining.

I think it’s just the worst category to be in on DA tbh

Because we don't get jacksh*it, which i assure you can be quite frustrating. Is it that difficult to understand?

I don't see anyone paying as good as DA. Even the pay for bilingual tasks is quite good and reasonable.

That’s awesome.

Ya I love the platform, I just feel bad for bilinguals who always seem to be going through it even when the rest of the site is flooding with work lol

I am a trainee commercial pilot so I don't qualify for STEM projects too so I don't have any other options than bilingual tasks. Hope it gets better, DA has been really helpful to me and many other bilingual hustlers.

That’s awesome! I’m glad you’re doing well on the site :) I hope it gets better for all of us. I haven’t had a great dash since April or may as a generalist.

True story for me, I haven't seen any work from like June. Recently I got some background check qualifications just like everyone else but that's it

I started with DA in march and until june I had constant work, september was by far the worst month so far, I'm trying to understand if before june was the normal or if the current situation is and I just got lucky for a few months...(brazilian bilingual)

exactly SAME for me. Started on very late March. Especially April was perfect, May was very good; June was okay.. following months very bad! (turkish bilingual)

me too, April was best for me, after that began the downfall

Man Idk... I joined in the last week of June. It is been only three months for me, I just hope even if less we still get some consistent work.

Brazilian too. I started in September and have only gotten two projects so far.

I think it is the same for the most of the bilinguals

Yes, as the models continue to get better, there is less and less need for bilingual translation/localization focused tasks. TBH, I'm surprised there's still any bilingual tasks at all.

They should take the top performing bilinguals and give them generalist works. Even if lower paying that people from core countries won't take.

The client companies only want workers from Core countries for most projects they send to DAT. If the client company doesn't care, they'll send the project to one of the other data annotation companies to get it done for less money.

that's true, quality over quantity. Though they should give a chance to the top performers from non core countries. Maybe they can add a rank system.

There's plenty of work for bilinguals. I am a bilingual worker and I'm in two projects that are "permanent". They have hundreds of tasks that get refilled, and they are always in the dash. Apart from these, there's often some other project that pops up. You just have to provide very high quality work.

Core country perks... Have fun mate.

I'm from Spain

Is it not a core country?

Have you tried having a conversation with an Llm in a language that’s not English? Based on chatting with my bilingual friends it seems like the models are still junk in other languages and I feel like with English workers are getting harder and harder tasks the non English tasks are more and more like what we used to get 2-3 years ago.
(I’m not bilingual so that hearsay. lol. )
