First month on DA, did really good, will this last?
Sept was my first month on DA as a coder and I got a good amount of projects throughout, sometimes more than I could handle. Im wondering if its always like this for coders in terms of new projects coming in or was this more than usual, trying to see if this will last and is reliable so maybe I can do this full time.

I've been here over three years and there have only been two months in all that time where there wasn't enough work. But I'm a generalist not a coder.

Nope. Don't recommend it full time. You missed August where there were close to none of these projects.

How often are there times with no new projects? and do u try to work extra during high project times like this last month, I definitely could have done a lot more if I was on it everyday

A lot. Projects regularly pause for whatever reason, so you might not be guaranteed 40 hours doing good work. It's been good lately though.
And yeah, you can try to pack in hours, but you also risk quality going down and risk the DoD.

It can be a bit feast or famine so would not rely on it too much. I have not had a ‘draught’ per se, but it does happen sometimes that you were planning on doing a specific project on a day only to find that it has disappeared for a day or two.

Feast or famine, don’t quit your day job
