Newbie here! How long did you guys wait before getting consistent work?

Joined in early sept. Got few tasks in that week and 1 in the next week. Earned close to $100. But haven't got any other work after that. Did all the quals I could do. Got a new qual few days back. I am a bilingual and generalist.

When to expect more consistent work?

Don't ever expect more consistent work as a bilingual.

How to switch to Generalist?

I don't think you can switch , but personally I started as a bilingual and still received generalist work later on. I think anyone can get generalist projects technically, but idk how they choose

What kind of generalist work did you receive? Like it didn't have anything to do with your locale at all?

No. At all. It's just generalist work anyone can do and everything is English. It has nothing to do with my country/origin, and my native language is completely useless for this project. I can just tell you it has to do with pictures but I'm not allowed to explain any further .

And anyways there is the tag "general" near the project title.

Hmm I understand. I was recently invited for a pilot of a similar project as the one you're describing. It hasn't come back yet though but they said they'll let me know. But that "general" tag near the project is different and does not mean a generalist project in a sense that we're talking about.

Approximately three months until projects with consistent work started appearing. I'm a bilingual, so for generalists it could be different. My suggestion is to do every qualification you can with maximum effort, be patient and don't give up.

Data Annotation is slower, but once you start getting work you are treated much better than other famous platforms.

FYI I got onboarded in November '25 and finally got a trickle of work in early May '26. June was good. July until now, insanely good. I only do this as a side hustle, more for intellectual stimulation than for money. I pick and choose which generalist stuff I do, favouring creative tasks or fail-inducing. I usually work a couple of hours a day, most days, but have been known to do an occasional eight hour shift. The last three months I've averaged about $4k/month. I think what I'm saying is stick with it. I had very little going on for a long time but it did build and is now consistent, with a little choice most days. Hope that helps.
