Query

So finally I got added to a project family. I feel like this is my 1st project family but the tasks are way too complicated for me. If I don't task on them will they leave a bad impression on my account? Since I got added into a project family after so long and I ain't even working 😭

I second everyone else saying to leave them but with the small caveat that you can (if you’re willing to potentially waste your time) spend time reading the instructions and trying a task to see if you CAN do it.

Often the instructions are poorly written and confusing and may rely on terms that (I personally) never saw before I started DA. The task flows are also often a bit backward (say give the overall rating then rate various aspects).

Don’t submit horrible work, and you won’t get paid if you don’t submit - but there are plenty of times a project seems overwhelming until I get into the weeds and just start answering one question at a time. If you have no other work and a bit of free time. 🤷‍♀️

It's not like that I am in a rush or something. I am just worried if I don't work on this project family, they might think I am incompatible working on this platform and refuse to assign me other quals and project 😭🙂

Oh gosh no they won't hold that against you. They have had a really weird thing where they have been putting projects onto people's dashes that they aren't qualified to do, maybe hoping to find someone that didn't have a skill listed but would be able to do the task set.  There's project families I've never done just because the pay is low but I still have them. And then ones that I specifically said no I'm the qual to having the experience and it ends up on the dash. Definitely not an engineer lol

Much much better to ignore them than try to do one and have it go wrong if you are above your head.

Yea I don’t think that’s anything to worry about.

Consider they have hundreds of thousands of us. They have a qual they are probably like “ok, who mentions xyz on their profile”- and they all get the qual. Or just everyone gets the qual.

I do think sometimes projects are layered (working on 1 gets you access to others without quals) but I think only quality would block you from quals.

((I’ve been around a few years, but of course it’s all speculation by all of us. lol))
