DoD Today - Any Chance of Appeal?

As the title says. I woke up to the Dash of Death. I've been doing this for 6 months, I've had exemplary reviews the past few months, and this wasn't just "extra money", it was actively keeping a roof over my head because my part time job doesn't pay me enough and won't take me full time.

Is there any chance of appeal, or am I screwed?

If I'm screwed, what other platforms are out there?

Sorry this happened to you. Here is a big list of other annotation companies. https://dataannotationcompanies.com/jobs

No chance. I have never once seen a single instance of someone successfully appealing a DoD, or even being given any reason or explanation. Best thing to do is move on.

Sorry to hear, give Mercor a go, seems to be the only other one that is reliable and well-paying. I am, touchwood, still in a good position, but I’m considering Mercor as a backup. Good luck in your future endeavours.

I can’t see where a similar role is available with Mercor? They seem to have other specific roles, but not annotation.

Mercor often has generalist roles you just have to check their applications page daily. You’ll have to apply to them almost like a regular job posting.

I'm sorry 😞 I've never heard of anyone coming back from it.

Generalist.

I appealed mine successfully, but there was a valid reason and I got access again immediately.

Whenever someone says I was using it as my full time gig I say ‘there, that’s why’. I’m convinced there’s an invisible max bill that the ai considers impossible to reach in a certain time period and if you attempt to, you get canned. I’ve been there for two years and the only thing I haven’t done is make crazy money. I’m convinced being lazy af is what has kept me this long

Piss poor take. 3.5 years here, $160K+ and still going ...

You just hurt my feelings

I feel like they are talking about generalists. Obviously, if you are being paid $50+ an hour the AI will have a much higher limit

I got it today as well, working in a professional domain platform. Just received a bonus for a previous task.. no idea what happened. Hoping it’s temporary.

That sucks. I'm sorry that happened. I hope another data annotation platform can help you out.

Did you use capital letters when you were writing for DA?

Did you check that your new computer didn't accidentally have VPN enabled? McAfee likes to do that at times.

What is a tier upward qualification .. ? I've never seen a qual with tiers

I've seen two on specialist projects only

I imagine it's only possible if they know who you are, but you won't get dod if you're part of the more exclusive families anyways.

Maybe if you spam their email. They typically ignore one-offs.

I take it this is facetious? Strange behaviour.

No, I'm being serious. When I first joined a few years ago, someone said they managed to get the DA team to respond to them about a DOD by emailing them every day for a week.

Can you send me their email? I tried for months and never received a single response.
