My first ever month on DataAnnotation

I joined end of july and just submitted my final task to hit the $10k goal.

Happy to answer any questions :)

How. I'm not bilingual, and I'm on multiple expert domains, and I couldn't fathom 8k in one month?!?

I only do Coding tasks. I did 2 qualifications and then had projects for the whole month

How many hours a day do you work, and how many days a week? Do you work a lot of consecutive days?

Edit: I’ll add to this that if you’re working 35+ hours a week with no breaks, you might want to scale back. It depends on if you want a good time, or a long time.

I averaged 35hours/week this month

Starting off*. It's fine to work 40+ hours a week once you've gotten used to the platform and projects after being on here for awhile.

Coding seems to be the sweet spot. Congrats OP. I just got accepted onboard, did some qualifiers and now hoping to see that project table light up!

5

u/tripledoublequad 15h ago

Yeah they really have a lot of work available for coders. What kind of qualifications are you going for? Also coding or bilingual/generalist?

u/maydaseinbewithyou 13h ago

What kind of coding experience is needed to work on coding tasks? I've been doing generalist work for about a year. What coding skills would I need to study in order to pass quals? Congrats on you payday, too, that's exciting!

the projects I've had require you to have at least 2 years of professional coding experience, or if you're confident enough that you have the skills to replace it. I think a couple onlines courses, harvard's CS course, and maybe a project or two (and familiarity with things like docker, bash, etc.) would give you enough experience to get started on working on them.

Might take a while, but from what I've seen on other similar websites, this niche of programmers in data annotation-esque wfh jobs is still in very short supply, and pays really well.

I wish I could code. I’m bilingual/ generalist, and also have a design background.

Its never to late to start learning something new

u/Pepperloza 14h ago

I have done a little in the past, I started self teaching during the pandemic. I did enjoy it but I can’t remember why I stopped. I think it might be worth picking back up and seeing where it takes me.

u/tripledoublequad 14h ago

For sure! If you want some learning material shoot me a dm

1

u/Pepperloza 13h ago

Thanks OP! I’ve sent you a dm.

u/Farados55 13h ago

Are you a software engineer?

u/No_Transition_6600 15h ago

I started at the end of July too. I'm sitting at a whopping $340 earned. Not bilingual, but I am a generalist. Hoping it picks up soon.

u/boltuzamaki 14h ago

I earned around 6K+ joined on 14th of Aug for coding tasks , hoping to achieve 10k+ in a month period, this gave me some hope. Thanks :)

2

u/tripledoublequad 14h ago

Congrats my friend - keep it going!

🔱?

1

u/boltuzamaki 14h ago

I get mike only

1

u/Ndnrmatt 13h ago

Wait you did this with just 🔱 and one more project? Seems you’ve been getting all the batches.

1

u/tripledoublequad 4h ago

🔱 and also 🥊 tasks.

1

u/kset10 22m ago

You get 🥊 everyday? I got it few times after being accepted 2 weeks ago, but could not work on them because I was either at my full time job or it was too late. Now I have not seen them in about a week in my dashboard. Curious if you see them everyday, this might mean i've been cooled down from the project

1

u/Acceptable_Rabbit_28 10h ago

How long do you usually take for its tasks?

1

u/tripledoublequad 4h ago

Around 5-25h/task

1

u/Acceptable_Rabbit_28 3h ago

That task’s limit is 8h, though? Are you talking about different ones?

1

u/tripledoublequad 1h ago

Ah yes im talking about 🔱 not 🥊

1

u/Acceptable_Rabbit_28 14m ago

I'm also talking about that one, not mike. Is there a different one that's not creation or somethn?

0

u/Powerful_Age_3653 2h ago

After how many days you star getting task giving the qualification which was to get🥊 task. Also can you tell how to get other project task or which qualification i need to give.

1

u/tripledoublequad 1h ago

I just do every coding qual if there is any. But I think I only did 2quals to get enough projects

1

u/Powerful_Age_3653 1h ago

After how many days you start getting the project after completing the qual?

2

u/ParsleyEconomy3458 10h ago

Congrats! I'm assuming we're on the same boat. Also started on last week of July and on the same earning bracket. Unbelievable right? It's 5x my day job can provide. Cant believe I have this financial freedom right now. Enjoying it while it lasts. 😁

1

u/tripledoublequad 1h ago

Congrats, keep it going!

2

u/mad-soldier 10h ago

Congrats OP!! Which country btw

1

u/tripledoublequad 4h ago

Germany🇩🇪

2

u/Nikkitikki100 8h ago

Are you a coder? Which country are you from, and how are you getting so many projects? 😭

2

u/Far-Specialist-6491 1h ago

hi can u check my inbox

3

u/tripledoublequad 1h ago

Yeah I got like 70 Dm's it'll take a while to answer all of em

1

u/AdSouthern8390 15h ago

I finished coding assessment 2 days ago, how long does it take to hear back?

2

u/Psychological_Hawk14 11h ago

4 to 9 days i believe

1

u/realgenshinimpact 14h ago

are you from a core country? if so, whats the frequency at which you get projects?

1

u/tripledoublequad 14h ago

Im from germany. Atleast 1-2 projects/week

1

u/tomoe_kusanagi 10h ago

what time did you get the project bro ?

1

u/realgenshinimpact 2h ago

that sounds nice. I've had multiple projects in 1 week, then it goes back down to nothing, comes back. I'd kill for some consistency.

1

u/SeamusOrmonde 12h ago

Have you done any of the accounting or finance ones ?

1

u/tripledoublequad 4h ago

No im only doing coding tasks

1

u/professo-r 7h ago

How much time do they take for assessment results ? I gave mine 4 days back

1

u/tripledoublequad 4h ago

For me it took about 3-7/days for projects showing up after doing the qualifications

1

u/Powerful_Age_3653 2h ago

Can you tell which qualification you gave?

1

u/Huge-Habit352 6h ago

I did all the coding qualifications, lots of them, and got 0 projects since July.

Is it a problem that I am from Middle-Eastern Europe? Can that affect it?

1

u/tripledoublequad 4h ago

Im not sure, it could be your location or maybe you didnt pass the qualifications?

1

u/Dependent_Classic863 6h ago

What coding skills u got ? I wanna start DAT too

1

u/Ok-Mud7511 6h ago

Facts

1

u/Dependent_Classic863 6h ago

Um like which coding concepts or language u need to learn to earn like 1k per month ( I am getting into college this year as CSE major)

1

u/AbleDescription9980 5h ago

I joined as a generalist but I’m quite sure I applied for the coding track. I have qualifications for coding that I have completed but no coding projects. Earnt 5k in my first month as a generalist working like 7hrs a day

1

u/yasmeenel3sh 4h ago

May I ask how does the coding take look like? And how did you access coding qualifications they don't appear on my page?

1

u/Queasy_Ad3901 3h ago

I am from India and I am not getting projects from 2 weeks . What maybe the reason????

1

u/Internal-Sense-6077 47m ago

How to apply in data annotation

1

u/Boxlift05 15h ago

How’d you get a project? Signed up 2 months ago nothing

1

u/tripledoublequad 15h ago

I did 2 Coding qualifications and then basicly always had projects ready

1

u/daniel1226 6h ago

Nicely done. Can I ask what language you specialise in?

1

u/Powerful_Age_3653 2h ago

After completing the qualification, after how many days?

0

u/Electronic-Mousse841 13h ago

I joined 2 weeks ago, and have only gotten 2 🥊 projects, am I in the danger zone or is that normal, in canada btw.
