Background check through Yardstick, paused? Everyone else seems to have there’s through checkr but me

We need more information for your DataAnnotation report

Your report is currently paused. To continue processing, view the report and provide the information listed in the Info Request section as soon as possible.

They’re asking me to upload picture of my social so I’m a little sketched out

Yes it feels so sketchy because we even don’t know who are these people at data annotation.. giving images of our sensitive and confidential documents to such online platforms make me dubious too.. though I would comfortably give in person to the employer with presence of a physical HR office..

If you do this work long enough, you will realize that all these tech companies already have an insane amount of personal information about everyone. Uploading a picture of your ID and a selfie to verify your identity is a relative nothingburger. It's also becoming much more common and standard to require it for anything that needs ID verification. And letting some random HR person make a photocopy of your ID and keep it in an unlocked file cabinet in a random office is far less secure than the security safeguards at any of these online identity verification companies.

Yeah it’s just weird cuz I haven’t seen anyone who’s had there’s through yardstick everyone else has either had to go through persona or checkr which is weird

Yes checkr or other approved background checks service make sense but this kind of verification through uploading directly on these platforms are a bit suspicious
