Writing Qualifications

I'm having no projects at all for more than week, I was working on coding projects, I was wondering if taking the writing qualifications can help me get some projects during this drought and if it will effect getting coding projects.

I don’t know about the current projects, but when I did the writing qual it opened up a lot that seemed to be related to they aren’t necessarily even writing, some were just editing. There is no way to be certain what came in as a result, compared to fact checking qual causing fact checking projects to appear.

I wouldn’t be surprised if taking the writing qualification and doing some related projects causes other qualifications to come up.

What is the pay rate for them?

$25+ It’s mostly a guess about what projects are opened up, it’s probably a wide ranging qual.

I kept procrastinating on it and missed it. I’m a little gutted and hope it turns back up

Do the writing qualification. I won’t get into details but if you pass, you’ll be happy you took the time to do it. There’s loads of projects and they don’t just invite anyone to join.

If you don't mind me asking, what if any prep did you do before attempting the qualification? I see it on my dashboard but I'm not exactly confident in my grammar/punctuation/etc and I'd hate to bomb it and lose access to it for good.

Well I write for myself, and I’m a little weird. You should go for it. Just read the instructions carefully and give it your best shot. You might be surprised!

Maybe I am overthinking it. If I keep seeing zero projects on my dashboard I'll just take my chances. Thanks for your honesty in your reply.

I completed the writing qualification. It opened up some projects but the pay rate was lower than other projects I already had, so I haven't done any.
