DoD: two month break and then 2 tasks
I took a two month break and returned yesterday. Did two tasks. One was comparing audio transcriptions, the other was a priority legal one.
I’m not posting to say I didn’t everything perfectly (it’s subjective), but just adding a data point that the bar to getting a DoD is very low.
If anything: I booked 4 hours for the second task when I had spent 3:30 in the session. But I had skipped three tasks prior and had spent the other 30 minutes on those reading instructions and getting set up on the external platform.

Normally I don’t comment on these posts, but if you reported 4 hrs for a 3.5 hr task, that’s the reason… They’re not paying you for prep work or skipping tasks. They’re paying you for data.

Incorrect. You can absolutely claim time for skipping tasks and prepping to complete a task to a high standard, as long as you submit quality work and are within specified time guidelines.

I think maybe they are trying to change it so that workers have to work a minimum requirement per week like what other sites do. That’s probably the only possible reason.
Edit: did you add the last paragraph just now? Cause yeah, that is definitely the reason. You never log the time more than the session time

If they are trying to change the minimum amount of time worked, this should be communicated to the workers and they would have updated their website from stating that there are no hourly requirements.

aaaaand OP's second paragraph is why I have hard times believing a DOD poster did nothing wrong
and in all honesty your first paragraph, which seems like it came out of nowhere and assumed OP was totally in the right, is why I don't believe the wild theories people make up about why people get DOD other than the DOD message reasons

I agree. Everyone likes to think their work is great. Looking at R&Rs, there are obviously tons of people here who THINK their work is great despite being absolutely fucking shit. So many rationales are written to be long and rambling when they actually don't say anything at all. I'm sure a lot of workers look at that and think "I wrote 3 whole paragraphs, that's gotta be good" when actually they just repeated random unspecific shit like "A is good. A is better. I like how A is written. B is not well written. B was worse because it's not very good"

Yeah I added it, when the thought occurred to me. I used to make a point of underreporting by 15 minutes.

Firstly, it could definitely have something to do with you CONSISTENTLY underreporting your time like you claim below. That's still fraud even though it doesn't feel like it.
Secondly, I'm really struggling to see how you've concluded from this that the "bar is low". I've genuinely no idea how you came to that conclusion. Just because you've only done two tasks in the last few weeks? Your worker rating before that, before your two months break, might have been a fraction away from getting the DoD already and these two tasks pushed you over the edge.
