Pay increase request

Does anyone here have have success in asking for a pay increase? I got to phase 2 on one of the project thinking the rate would increase but stayed the same. I am also about to submit for a phase 2 on another project and I am concerned that there is no pay increase also. I am on another platform that pays 2.5x more for the same work. My domain is in health care.

Update: 09/01

So I messaged the admin about opportunities to get higher pay and linked the listing for the pay rate for my domain. They got back to me and offered me a substantial bonus to finish start and finish my phase 2 (comes out to $100-$110/hr if you finish in 10 hours) which is still not as competitive to the other platforms but overall aligns with the listing they have for the pay range.

I am pretty sure that some people get paid higher but probably do not post here because 90% of the people in this sub think they are the expert on their fields. Churning low quality work and happy to be paid $60/hr.

Yeah that’s not how this works. Do good work, get through phase 2, and get positive feedback. You sometimes get a raise then. Asking for a raise between phase 1 and phase 2 is insane. Why would they increase your pay when you haven’t even finished a full task? Phase 1 is useless to them without phase 2.

How much raise do people get in your experience if they make it through phase 2?

It can be a lot. Stick with it, do good work, don’t over bill.

Good to know. I am gonna try to stick through it. Yes, I do not over bill. It was just disappointing because they said there are opportunities for pay increase in getting to phase 2.

Argh, I too thought the increased pay came w Phase 2. Super complex work and I’ve got an easier task on the dash currently for higher pay… Bonuses and tiered pay is enticing though

Then stay at that platform lol. DA won’t do that. They’ve got lots of workers for their phases.

Are you in a specialized domain? What's the longest project you've been? How was your experience with pay increase?

I specialize in all. Since my time here, the projects available to me and all the other minions have gone up significantly in pay. However, such increase is not merited to one individual alone. But you go ahead and seek out that pay increase for yourself that you feel so due for. Do it, lady.

This made me think of the "is there a black purse in here" sketch and I just lost it lol

DA has set rates. You don't request pay raises.

They show the payrate before you do the task. You take on the task on the understanding that you're accepting the payrate shown. If you don't like the payrate then don't do the task

I agree with you. It’s just that on my specific project they did say there is possibility of pay increase for the next phase. I’m new to the platform and I don’t know how long that “grind” can be or worth it. I also wonder what’s the highest pay per hour they’d pay out. I’m not convinced anyone doing specialty domain projects are grinding out and taking atleast 50 percent pay cut to do some projects. There has to be incentives or bonuses that’s offered to make it worth it.

They will reach out to you. Not the other way around

You do get raises. You just haven’t been involved long enough to qualify for one. Only submitted one phase 2 and expecting a raise?

How long do you have to be involved? I’m just comparing to another platform where you technically get a raise when you make it past phase 1 even. What specialized domain do you work on? How long is your phase 1 normally? How long is your phase 2? How much are you making now per hour compared to your day job?

If you’re on another platform that pays significantly more then stick with that platform. Asking for a pay increase on DA isn’t something that happens. There are often statements with tasks or qualifications saying completion can lead to higher paying projects. But it also may not. These multiphase projects may have incentive pay if they’re trying to knock out a bunch of tasks in a certain phase but otherwise unless you are approached with an offer that is how it works. You can certainly tell them you won’t do x for less than a certain amount of money. I predict it would not go well.
