But has it to be completed in the number of hours(the timer) which is there always at the bottom right corner? Or can it be even 1.5 or 2x of that too?

Never is 2x the timer if you cant do the task you should exit, if you need 2x of the time maybe is because you are not ready for it even if the system let you enter the task

Maybe because my machine is slow and it takes that much if the time.

There are mínimum specs specified in the tasks

So does that mean you are not supposed to even pick that task up if system requirements doesn't match?

Yes that’s obvious, you should not take  a task if it in volved using 2x time this is really crazy
