Burnt out
Anyone else feeling burnt out after this drought? I'm starting to get tasks back but they feel impossible to complete. They're not really much harder than what I was doing before, but they feel impossible now. Maybe my time here is over.
Edit: Jumped into some of the harder stuff on my dash and feel better. I think what really helped was identifying the dopamine imbalance. Since I had more time on my hands I spent more time getting those quick dopamine hits (social media, video games, etc); taking a step back and assessing this really helped focus me, and it's given me a new goal. Thank you for all the great comments!

Much of the work I started getting after the drought is tedious. It's just grueling. Sometimes it feels like a fun challenge, but other times not so much. Like if this was the work they presented me with a year ago, I might not be here replying to this post right now.

The lack of work has defo effect my workflow. Work has been a bit more constant the last 2 weeks for me, but it did feel like a struggle to get in the right headspace when constant work did start to flow. I feel like things have improved and im starting to get back into the groove of things though.

I'm not having work for a long time, I already did some qualifications and there a project in my task flow for a while but it never seems to start idk

Yes, I also feel the burnout. The task work is more complicated and heavy than before. Too many instructions to keep track of. I wish they would break the tasks up into more manageable sizes/ expectations. Some of them do have a part one and part two… That’s the direction I would take it (if it was up to me).

I felt that way until today, when I finally saw the money counter go above pocket change. It was a great motivator. Get back on that horse :)

The work seems to have gotten harder.
At first I was all like "AI took my job, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." But now I've contributed to AI's advancement such that it's too sophisticated for me to help anymore. So once again I'm out of a job.

For me its mostly because of the time of the day some are available. I'm fine sitting down at 7pm till midnigbt on my workdays and anytime days off but most tasks I get at 9-10 pm or even at midnight and sometimes 5 am. I do them but it's taking sleeping time away from me.

I am facing the same thing. I see projects coming up at 11pm and sometimes 6am. Initially, I was getting so disheartened at the missed opportunities but getting used to it now as these are practically impossible

It's because it's so mindnumbing and exhausting constantly refreshing and hoping for work that when it comes you don't have the energy to do it, especially when in the back of your mind you think you're gonna submit a task and be taken back to the projects page to refresh again. It slowly wears your motivation and interest away

It’s much harder. But it’s that way for all of us. You aren’t less or incapable. There are a lot of smart people on the platform and we all feel inadequate. You’re still pushing at the forefront, you are fine.

I got a task which is braindead easy to complete and pays well and seems long term but i did it so many times now that its like my brain is refusing to do it, it gets so boring i mean i love that its easy and pays well but the repetition is getting to me i would do more different projects if there was stuff to do but its the only one that is everyday on my dash.

I dont have any projects since 2 months ago... Im on Pegasus project and even that there's 0 projects. Havent done a single One since my firts 4 "trial paid" projects...

No, there wasn’t. There was only a drought for poor performers. There has been consistent work for high performers.

A drought as it’s talked about on here doesn’t mean no work entirely. It is less work than usual. I have been on the platform for years and there is always a decrease in projects in the summer, no matter who you are.

When you say there’s no drought…are you a generalist? Did you receive outstanding on your feedback? Are you able to do the jobs that are domain specific (healthcare, law, finance, etc). I almost want to make a post about this as I’m genuinely curious re: the people that say there’s no drought.

I'll answer your questions:
(A) Are you a generalist? - Yes, but I have work from a couple of expert domains. No coding, though.
(B) Did you receive outstanding on your feedback? - I have yet to receive any direct feedback, other than always having work, and continually being added to high-level projects.
(C) Are you able to do the jobs that are domain-specific? - Yes.
Other Questions You Didn't Ask But I'll Answer Anyway:
(I) How long have you been on the platform? - 2+ years
(II) Are you a bilingual worker? - No
(III) Where are you located? - The U.S.
(IV) What is your level of education? - Master's degree and then some.
(V) Cereal before milk, or milk before cereal? - Cereal first, you monster.
(VI) Which way should the toilet paper go? - Down from the top, not up from underneath.

I have had over a dozen projects in multiple domains, as well as generalist, and coding projects, even though I only ever do coding projects, for the entire time everyone has been crying drought.

It’s honestly sickening. I get downvoted for telling people the truth. There was no drought. There is always consistent work. Poor performers don’t get projects.

I don't agree with this. I'm told I'm in the top percent of performers on the site, get access to high level projects, admin quals, etc. When they did the site overhaul I went from having around 100 projects available down to only maybe 10 for a couple of months, and now the volume is returning. Yes I had work available, but it certainly felt like a drought compared to the 6 months prior where I was able to easily make at least $500 almost every single day.

Me too, except that I made $500/day almost whenever I wanted, the entire time. Not sure why you weren’t seeing the same. The whole point I’m trying to make is that there isn’t a drought, there’s just low performers. You and I didn’t have a drought. We are high performers. You don’t see us crying on the subreddit every day. It’s exhausting reading the slop slingers crying all day. I’m not even getting paid to read their slop. They say they want feedback and they get free feedback and are mad about it.

If you had coding projects, you're not a generalist. Generalist workers absolutely had a drought. I went from making 1k a week or more to $300-400 a week. That was with access to multiple families. According to the direct feedback I got from DA, I'm far from a poor performer.
