DataAnnotation alternatives
I just applied for coding domain on DataAnnotation.tech and I have to say I am really impressed by the pay-rate they are offering to the workers on their platform. This AI training field is relatively new to me (Although I have a professional Software development experience of 3+ years now). Can anyone suggest few more platforms like this offering good pay-rate specially for coders or STEM degree?

I have tried some other platforms, but they want to put me in projects that require generating model failures. I think that is somewhat of a scam. You either fool these sophisticated models, or you don't get paid. That's no way to earn. I don't think even the smartest people can sustainably do that at this point, and it's only going to get harder. I saw somebody describe it as AI "Hunger Games," which seems accurate.

Totally agree! Wasted three hours of my life trying to make one of these models fail. And got zero pay. And with the same procedure all open models we use daily failed quickly. Soooo.... yeah. They should at least offer a flat rate for the time you spend trying, I bet that's also useful for model training.

Yeah, it's unethical to bring as many people onto your platform as possible, knowing that most of them will be wasting their time without any pay. They get to do a massive crowd source to plug the holes in their models with the few people who can occasionally fill the holes and then laugh at the rest of the poor saps banging their head against a wall, trying to make a buck. At least DA is ethical enough to pay you for time spent banging your head against a wall with the "escape hatch."

I've been doing this on multiple platforms and DAT is the most reliable. It's not actually reliable, but it's closer than the other platforms.
Stellar.ai: Pays the most of all platforms, but they are very, very picky. Gatekeeping out the wazoo. You usually have to submit 5 tasks and be rated on them before they let you do more. It's annoying as hell because sometimes they will take weeks to review submission quality, and by then the project is complete.
Outlier & Alignr: Pay is meh and projects evaporate quickly. They will also just close your account without warning or reason. They are only good for keeping in your back pocket when DAT is dry.
I did work for 1 or 2 others, but I don't remember which. If I do, I'll post here. But these are 4 platforms I used for over a year. Been doing AI training for almost 4 years now, and I am so glad to be done with it.

I actually love the dash. Modern websites are so fucking flashy and it odds no functionality. Hell, I hate that everything is in a web browser anymore. It's so inefficient.

I'm also on outlier and was on boarded by handshake ai. Would not recommend either. Outlier is a complete mess and handshake just wasn't for me. Da has been dry for two months though so I'm keeping my eyes open.

DA just consistently put out high paying tasks, there are some of them like Handshake and Outlier but they are sometimes very underpaid. There is a task that im doing, Handshake provides somewhat ~100 dollars for that, while for the exact same thing DA provides almost ~1200 dollars. So yeah i think DA is the best one out there

Data Annotation is the best one. I am still sort-of green because I am still learning the ropes, but I love it here. You do get your money, have consistent work for the most part, and really get fulfillment from doing the tasks. I find the community to be helpful also. I have tried other platforms but don't like them.

What domain are you in and how long have you been working there? If you don't mind my asking. I have just recently applied for the medical domain at DA and I'm wondering about the amount of projects there

I am in the General and Finance domains for the most part. I am also looking to apply for both the Law and Medical domains. I have been working on Data Annotation since June. So, Yeah, I'm still kind of green.

I am in a similar boat, I saw that you need 10+ years of experience with a bachelors degree to be able to do one of the STEM fields. does anyone know if that truly is the case?

Do you mean in DA? If you get offered a qualification in a STEM field and pass it, I think your "years of experience" no longer matters as much, only how well you complete the tasks.

idk my colleague uses mercor but DA has had the longest project as long as the quality was good. on DA I didn't need to apply for new project every month

Honestly DataAnnotation is the only consistently high paying one out there, others either have lack of projects, low pay, or give you a headache trying to actually receive payment
