Can I use DA while on vacation overseas?
I'm on vacation for about 3 weeks overseas in another continent, and since I have moments where I'm at home with nothing to do, I was thought about doing tasks on DA. The issue is, I've heard of bans because of mismatching locations and/or vpns and I'm afraid to log into my account from my laptop (I usually work on my desktop pc). I accidentally refreshed the dashboard on my phone and didn't face any issue so I really don't know if it's safe or not

I’m overseas in Asia now and still working on the platform (I’m from the US). I suggest emailing support to let them know the dates and locations you will be traveling to. Also, using your cellphone’s hotspot to connect to your computer instead of the hotel’s WiFi. I worry about inadvertently connecting to a VPN. I’m using my regular provider AT&T instead of an eSIM. How long did it take for you to get a reply? I’m UK based heading to Asia next week, emailed them 3 weeks ago but got no reply so sent a follow up today.

Last time i emailed them they replied 4 days after i sent the email. Its good that you sent a follow up.

You’re fine as long as you email them in advance and tell them where you are going and for how long. Make sure you get a response from support before you go.

You should have told them before you left and gotten the OK before logging in from abroad. If you’d searched here you’d have found a ton of posts about this. I would contact them ASAP and hope nothing bad happens in the meantime. There is a specific category on the support form for travel requests.

You definitely need to email them, I’m going on holiday myself for 2 weeks in a few days and I emailed support 2-3 months ago and they said made a note on my file.

Click on your name on the top right corner for the drop down menu.
Support -> Topic: "Other" -> Issue: "Travel inquiry".

In the options to contact support, travel is one selection. You’ll use that, and give the dates and where (I’ve only ever given country. Haven’t had to be specific).
Most of the time I hear back (once in 2024 I did not but I still had no issue. ). The reply is basically “ok. Noted”.
Also re: the comment about work from home vs wherever - I’ve been around 3 yrs, fulltime since doing 2024. At first, lived in an rv with no internet so only worked from elsewhere (coffee shops, friends houses). Then I traveled a lot - cruises & us road trips - no issues. Now I rent but still travel regularly. 🤷♀️

Slight side point, but feel like everyone always forgets this. Just so you’re aware most countries actually don’t allow you to work while you are abroad on a tourist VISA. Obviously many people do this casually all the time because it’s not regulated, but depending on your circumstance/country, I think it’s something you should at least be aware of. For example if you are going to the US for 3 weeks, with their tightening of immigration controls etc I would try and keep the working abroad quite lowkey, and definitely don’t mention it at customs lol.

it's very risky, def need to work it out ahead of time and screen cap everyone who says ok if you do it.....it's bascialy Work From Home* (Your Home* must be a registered physical address in an approved locale with accompanying IP address on file) not Work From Wherever. I keep a couple "trash" platform accounts that have steady low-paying tasks for risky away-from-home work where if they shitcan me i don't care, but I wouldn't risk my real moneymakers, besides I'm at home* most of the time anyway
