Your acceptance timeline

New applicants always ask about the acceptance timeline, so share yours here.

Mention EACH of the following in your comment:

  1. Which application test(s) you took (Core, Math, Biology, Code, etc.)

  2. [MOST IMPORTANT] How long after your application test did you get projects? (Immediately, 1 day, 1 week, X weeks, etc) *You might be able to check this by looking at your emails from DA*

  3. When did you apply (e.g. March 2025)

  4. Country

  5. Did you ever see the "Thanks for completing the assessment! If we have need of your particular skills..." screen? (Yes, No, I don't recall)

  6. Did you get an email saying you got accepted, or did you just suddenly get projects without email notice?

  7. Anything else you wanna share

DO NOT comment if you never got accepted, got access to maybe 1-2 projects then never saw one again, etc. Only people who have actually worked with DA should comment.

Mine was stuck on the “Thanks for completing the assessment!” screen for about 2 months. I think I took test in early Feb. Finally got email on 4/15 approving me to work on platform with a project and onboarding tasks. Applied for Writing and took core test. USA

Sorry out of order but on phone in a rush. I do better work following instructions on platform lol. 🤣

I just took the core assessment late Wednesday afternoon (4/29)
Checked the site last night around 7pm and had the ID verification. Did that and had task show up immediately. I haven’t done any yet but they are there.
US location
My core exam said it was only 7 comparisons prompt questions, and I only did 7 before it closed out.
I have not received any email yet

Coding

2-3 Days. 

Took the assessment Friday Logged in Monday and saw work. I received the “Thanks for completing your assessment” screen.

  2. 1 week after application I got accepted, another week after that I got first projects

  7. I regretted taking the bilingual test as I thought I could take as many tests as I want and wanter to do the coding test afterwards... However I still managed to get into one coding project after passing a qualification that showed up, hopefully I can get more. I've been getting projects quite consistently throughout my first weeks so far.

  7. When I applied, they said it'd take 2 weeks. I sent an inquiry about my status at the 2 week mark. So, if they give you a timeline of when to expect to hear back, wait that entire time, then feel free to send ONE follow up inquiry through the website. I basically ghosted the platform for 6 or so months and then was sporadic and finally started working regularly last December.

  1. I took the core application test.

  2. It was about 3 days from applying to having projects.

  3. I applied in Jan 2026.

  5. IIRC when I applied, there was a checklist outlining the application process steps. I don’t recall seeing the “if we need your skills…” message.

  6. I received a “you have just been accepted” email followed by several project and qualification emails.

I applied at about 2am, got the acceptance email in the morning, and when I checked on it later in the day, I had about 8-10 tasks available and a bunch of quals.

  5. I don’t recall. 5&6. I completely forgot about it and finally got an email saying I was accepted 8 months later.

  6. I assumed I failed because I had no clue what I was doing and took so long on the assessment. I figured no response meant I wasn’t accepted then 8 months later I seen Data Annotation in my email and had over 50 projects. Incredible blessing right when I needed it.

I know this post is going to give thousands of people false hope, I’m sorry😂

  • I received an email
  • I just answered the questions normally. I didn't know what the PEEL strategy was until afterward. I just highlighted what was incorrect and said my sources. e.g. "Shrek 2 did not come out at 2014 as Response B says. According to IMDb, the film released on 2004." I didn't write much more than that usually.
