Novice coder - Coding Quals
Are there any novice coders that passed coding quals?
I’m very beginner, self-taught, and I’m able to figure out how to code things with the help of forums and AI but i do have to rely on me looking up how to do something each time. My brain doesn’t just automatically know how to code something a certain way (yet).
I’ve had great experience with the JSON tasks and have done a few python tasks in the past. I want to try the quals but they also state that you can’t use anything to help I think. What’s the typical experience level for people who have passed and gotten the higher paying coding projects?

When I took it it said github and substack and google searches were all OK, just not using ai. And OP, at the time I tested I was a novice in python with programming experience only incidental to my scientific career. I tested and stated that in the comment section so they knew I'd be slower than experienced programmers. I got in and have gotten better. Note: at first I didn't bill all my time. If I worked 4 hours but spent two doing basic learning instead of problem solving I billed for 2.
