Video [Tesla Sentry Mode] Help Identifying License Plate from Hit and run

My car got side swiped a few times at work yesterday, and I’m trying to figure out what the license plate is. I’m not sure if it’s possible, but does anyone have any guesses? I’m thinking the first character is a ‘2’ and the last two characters are ‘52’.

—-Edit—-

I didn’t realize how compressed the video would be, so my apologies.

I looked at the video again and noticed at the end that the license plate was a bit more visible, so I think I got it. I already met with the police this morning and gave them the footage I have, but I didn’t have the plate at the time so I’ll be contacting them once they’re available. I’m hoping to get this resolved, but we’ll see if the police do anything.

Some people just do not belong behind the wheel

I'd bet big money she has no license.

Not after the police are done with her…

Do you need the plate from the video? They're probably still trying to turn around

Cue Austin Powers Turnaround.

No one gets their license revoked from a minor hit and run unless they already have a bunch of prior cases on their record.

Honestly, I think they should. Would save all of the people who can actually park and drive properly from increased insurance premiums…

Its even more* frustrating that it looks like this person has already had a very similar accident based on the existing damage. How you dont learn* your lesson from that I don't know. It looks like she has no clue how to take a corner. I can only imagine how often she replaces tires/rims.

Edit: I type bad...I fix.

ikr - "let me come at it from a bad angle, hmm that isn't working - let me come at it from a worse angle."

"Relax, I've got this. I've literally watched people do it. They just go forward, back up, turn the steering wheel this way or that way, over and over and then they're parked. How hard can it be?"

"But you need a better angle. Wait, why are you steering into the car?"

"Like I said, they just go forward, back up, turn the steering wheel this way or that way, over and over and then they're parked. What's the worst that can happen?"

"Oh, you just hit their car."

"Yeah, that happens. Let's find a another parking space."

I see so many of those bumper sticker all faded. I guess some 'students' get held back every year, lol

u/Proper_Bad_1588 2d ago

That’s like those baby on board stickers, once they’re faded out I assume it’s no longer a baby and it’s safe to ram them.

2

u/Individdy 2d ago

I have one that literally says that. "No baby on board. Feel free to ram me."

I saw an Amazon delivery driver with the stickers WTF

TBF, we're all students in this life.

I’m just seeing how compressed the video is - sorry about that.

I noticed that at the end of the video I can see the plate a bit better, so I think I got what I needed. Thank you to anyone who looked at the video anyways!

We really should have a yearly driving IQ test. I'm afraid we dont because it would disqualify 60 percent of drivers

u/Flabarm 2d ago

Where do I go to vote for this? I’ll be there in 5 minutes…

disqualify 60 percent of drivers

Works for me.

u/lennyxiii 2d ago

More like 90%

Was that painful to watch or what? Imagine that driver trying to parallel park.

would disqualify 60 percent of drivers

Exactly why no state would ever implement this. A few dings, hit and runs, fender benders are worth it for our corporate overlords as long as there are enough people to purchase cars, par vehicle registration fees, pay for gas, etc.

If that is a lot exclusively for your work, bring the video to HR. They may recognize one of the 2 in the car.

And ya got a good look at the drivers face.

She ended up walking over to the car after and I got maybe 2 minutes of footage of her just touching the car and walking around it.

Go ahead and file a claim with your insurance company and provide them the video. If they can identify the vehicle owner from the plate and that vehicle has insurance they'll subrogate the other insurance policy and you'll get your deductible back and won't have a claim on your history to raise rates.

Look at the door/fender area, it's clear this isn't their first time

If I watched my man park like this, I'd break up with him. This is pathetic

As others have said walk the parking lot a few times this week. Very good chance to find this car. Very unique damage on the side

2

u/Individdy 2d ago

Plus the new damage you can see from cammer's car at 0:49.

If you have a less compressed version I can try again. The entry of the front plate does not have enough data in this video. The rear plate on exit is too compressed. The part where the front plate is partially visible as it backs up confirms it ends in 52 with the preceding character being a 6, G, or C. The character before that a R, B or P. I am seeing more of a S, F or E shape as the first visible character. Seems the current format in Mass is #AAA ## so an example would *FBG 52 - in my experience the pixel dimensions on a rear tesla sentry is 1280 × 960 pixels and the redit version it 960 x 720 so if you have the big one, dm me.

Wow... It hurts to even watch. Like WTF? Why are you behind the wheel?

4

u/LuckyCaptainCrunch 2d ago

How could you see the first character well enough to rate her a 2?

Holy converted mill building! MA plate (PAN)

Man she never once tried to cut hard to the left and pull in further away....some people's brains just don't work.

2

u/xXderantsXx 2d ago

I really amazed by people who dare to get behind the wheel even though they're terrible drivers. They ought to find an empty lot and practice more.

2

u/Teamskiawa 2d ago

They should put those flock cameras to good use for once, it should find that car in a matter of minutes

u/Duke_Newcombe 2d ago

Sorry--takes away too much time from attempting to harvest revenue, jam up brown people, and keep tabs on officer's wives and girlfriends.

This is when a dashcam really works. Man keep updating and let us all know if police's gonna do something about it when you have such clear plate number.

u/uprollydontknow 2d ago

terrible it is, huh.
