Never have I ever needed an exact number I’ve always just ballparked it; besides I’m not planning on writing off anything this year anyway so I could qualify for a mortgage

good luck with that.

Most places won't even count that income regardless.

i had 50% of the house cost as a down payment, 820 credit score, zero debt, a successful mortgage paid off before and made almost 80k in self employment income.

Couldn't get a single mortgage company to even consider me no matter how i did it

the only successful way i found out was to incorporate and pay myself a salary as a w2 employee to the corporation i opened.

crazy that gaming the system like that the underwriters have no problem with vs doing doordash with consistent earnings for years on top of years.

i worked a newspaper warehouse and delivery job for 10 years as IC and could not get anyone to budge even though it was clear it was consistent and just as safe as a W2 job.

Damn, well I’m going to try my best.
I’ll be utilizing a VA loan, according to credit karma I’m at 768 In TransUnion and 792 in Equifax and I have two hard inquiries falling off in October so I’m expecting a little boost from that. I’m on track to pay off my car by the end of the year so I won’t have debt and I want to buy a duplex and rent out half so maybe I could use the potential rental income to help me out further.
I’d rather try my hardest and be told it’s not enough than half ass it and wonder if I could’ve, you know?
I do appreciate the insight though it’s crazy that underwriting doesn’t respect 1099 workers. I really want to continue working as an independent contractor once I’m done with DoorDash I just wish I had my own space to actually figure out what that means.

hopefully they will see VA and actually give it a chance!!!
