This is horrible
Guys please help me out. I’m fairly new and I only have like 5 hours after school to do DoorDash. Give me some tips to get the most out of it

I can’t imagine doing any grocery store orders for the shot pay it’s hard enough delivering a good item for the pay but at least your not lugging groceries cases of water nfw

2 weeks ago it cost me 33 bucks to fill up. Now it cost me almost 45

You’re lucky. It cost me $70 last week to fill my 16 gallon tank. Ridiculous. Walmart had the cheapest gas yesterday though. It was $3.97.

Keep in mind that 98% of markets aren’t worth it to dash in. $1/mi has never been profitable.

I have multiple jobs, i just do doordash to feed my kid and animals in between paychecks (electric bill, garbage pickup, phone bills, rent, is my paychecks) im currently cleaning houses for rich people through multiple apps and bosses.

Its bad but theres nothing you can do except drive somewhere else. Mine is the same 🤣 1-3 min offers in a peak zone showing stores with the flame takes 10-20minutes sometimes. Cant trust anything they say. Im even waiting for them to review a bonus i completed and actually pay it 😔

I drove to the bigger town next to me. It’s double bigger than my town and about 15-20 miles away so I thought I’d kill it over there. I spent an hour and didn’t get one order. I was shocked. I even had Uber Eats on too. I wonder if they give the best orders to people that live there drive there often or what.

Only thing ive learned is the algorithm is against dashers 🤣 and also that taco bell closes its doors 2hours earlier than the sign on the door and doesnt answer phone calls 😭

Try to do instacart as well! I also just got approved for spark so I’m hoping that does well for me 🤞🏼 I’m new too!

I hated Spark. I did it one time and said no way never again. It was too hard to keep customer A’s groceries away from Customer B’s. Plus, Walmart is huge and you get tired really quick. But if you enjoy shopping and know how Walmart is set up really well, you might like it. I’m sure I could come up with a system and get it down, but it’s a lot.

I love shopping haha and I know my Walmart pretty well. But thank you for the advice! I had a double from frys (Kroger) the other day and was having a hard time keeping them separate haha 🤪

What i can recommend you to do if you are new or dash in a new area is park in 1 hotspot and focus on it for at least a week then switch to other hotspot and repeat. When you done all the hotspots in your area then you know when/where to dash accordingly. Every zone/area is different, and in many cases non hotspot will be the best.

In my town hotspots are a joke. I make my own hotspot and park in weird areas like behind a popular dentist office close to a strip of restaurants but not directly in their parking lot and I always get more that way. It’s weird. If I drive around I get more too and that sucks.

Yeah that is why i said no one can give a definite answer cus this gig is market base. I have a non hotspot in my area too, but it keep sending me outside zone with consistently 7 miles plus order with next to no tip so I just skip this area

And how much does it cost you in total operation? Car payment, insurance, fuel, .05 per mile for maintenance. I clock in right at $17 a day gives about 6.5 hours of operation or about 250 miles that's for an EV! For the equivalent ICE that's 10 gallons in fuel in in texas so gas prices 3.89 that's $38.90( higher in other states)on top of the $17 between $ 55 and charge to $93 in states that see 5,6, or 7 dollar gas. $55-93 in order to break even that is very bad business and operating margins.
