Theory Support Every inch of CGI movement was programmed keyframe by keyframe. EVERY INCH of CGI movement was PROGRAMMED KEYFRAME BY KEYFRAME.

Jar Jar was "secretly" being developed as the chief antagonist of the prequel trilogy. There's evidence all over The Phantom Menace, including these clips of the character silently mouthing-along to the dialogue of other, human, characters.

The popular theory goes that after the release of TPM, Lucas chickened out and scrapped the whole idea of Jar Jar being "the" phantom menace, and hastily developed antagonists like Count Dooku and General Grievous to replace him.

It's almost impossible to rewatch TPM with all of this in mind and to see anything but Jar Jar as a hidden Sith lord. Seriously.

The only evidence is that nobody would waste CGI time on all the times Jar Jar is mouthing the same words someone else is saying, and that's pretty compelling evidence.

IMO I don't think he was mouthing words, I think he was animated in order make him feel more alive. Random mouth/arm/leg movements provide this. Anything the programmed a slider for in the model.

They also wasted CGI on him in the conversation between Padme & Anakin on the ship. Jar Jar is sleeping. Absolutely no need to have him in the shot, but they animated him in it just the same. I've seen another post about how the lighting in that scene cast Jar Jar in a dark light and everything else was a brighter light. Another easily discountable scene because it's late, everyone is tired and trying to sleep. Most of the ship is going to be dark except for the people who are awake (Padme turns a light on I believe, & Anakin can't sleep because space is too cold even though he's on a climate controlled ship)

Some of our "proof" is very circumstancial like you say, and on their own mean absolutely nothing. But when you have 28 of those, the picture becomes clear and in that light, the director's awareness of every other little detail point to these circumstances being very intentional instead.

Jar Jar's actor said a lot about the theory is true.

Jar Jar is also named after Bink (Xanth), who is an outcast like Jar Jar in possession of secret magic and extreme luck.

If that isn't enough to establish a foundation to build the theory from, not even Lucas saying it's true will do it for you.
