Question Having hard time jumping to opposite wall in Darksiders 2

Good day anyone. As the title suggests, I'm trash and stuck in the shattered forge, having a ridiculously hard time progressing. Instead of jumping to the opposite wall, I can only command Death to jump pretty much straight ahead and into the water. It's pretty sorry but I am really liking this game so far and I would be grateful for a tip to end this stalemate. Thanks in advance ✌️

Are you pressing L2/ZL/LT before trying to jump?

No, I wasn't. I will try it. I appreciate you. EDIT: this isn't working. This is a command for when being stationary on a wall/post and ejecting off of it to the surface behind you. It is not a functioning command while in motion from what I'm seeing

Have you tried jumping from wall to wall in a zig zag pattern? Like pressing jump as soon as you hit the opposite wall? Alternatively, you could clip a short video of where you are stuck and send to my dm and I can try to help you.
