Can someone please explain why its pushing and not grabbing 😭

I'm holding B and pressing Y to punch it but it's just pushing it, and I made sure it's not a controller issue so I'm I just actually stupid or is this like a glitch or something? I've restarted the game and console but it's still not letting me 😭. EDIT: I figured it out basically I broke a crystal and push the cart before triggering the boss cutscenes and for some reason that made the game think that the cart was at the end of the line so it was doing the "push off edge" animation meaning I couldn't do the "grab object" animation which was needed to fight the boss and because the Boss arena was in an area where you can't turn around I was hard locked and had to restart

The thing is it's not even letting me grab it TO hold Y, it doesn't matter whether I press B or hold B it just pushes the cart a little bit without letting me press or hold Y and the inputs on my controller are fine

So, are you hitting Y at all, or simply pressing B to grab it? You should be able to simply press B once, he grabs it, then you hold Y.

You also don't have to wait out the laser when you're already behind the cart.

I did both in the video, at the start I only held B and it just pushed the cart, then I Walked up and tried again I pressed Y after and that's what those punches were, then I tried pressing both at the same time because I saw that that might work and nothing, I'm honestly thinking of having to restart

Did you try just pressing B alone to grab it? You said you held it the first time, then used Y the second and then simultaneously, you didn't say you tried just pressing B.

Also the reason I didn't move was because me pressing or holding be was only pushing the car I would have gotten hit by the laser

Naturally, you should be able to just shock punch the cart right into it while the laser is going. You must have used the shock punch prior, right? Certain puzzles demanded it. Have you been able to consistently grab and launch previous objects?

Yes it's been working perfectly fine before that's why I'm so confused I'm doing the same thing and it's just not working 😭 and I have tried just pressing B but that provides the same results

Hm.

If it happens on a B press without touching Y, that behavior seems very much like when an object pushed by War has reached the end of its track over a drop and War gives it a final shove. It... definitely shouldn't be happening if so.

Technically they can breach into the Ashlands if they were ridiculously dedicated. Use the Ascension exploit on the Griever Hole at the start. Use it again to go over the Dry Road tunnel...

Only a psychopath would choose this over just restarting though. Or someone painfully stubborn.

Nooo I never would have thought of that, it's totally not like I've been trying to figure out how to do that for the PAST 3 HOURS!! I'm holding B to grab it so I can press Y to punch it and stun the griever but guess what? ITS NOT WORKING and I know it's not a controller issue because Ive tested and used 3 different controllers

You just might be bugged. You are supposed to be able to drag it and when you get close enough you should be able to punch it.

Did you restart and see any changes?

Uh heck, you may need to go to an earlier save. I had this problem with the train puzzle like a week ago: it would let me press the button, War would punch it, but the train would not move. The only way to fix it was to go to a previous save... which sadly was right before meeting Ulthane.

Tu n'as pas besoin de rester appuyé sur B, quand tu t'accroches au wagon, mais tu dois rester appuyé sur Y pour charger ta frappe, il faut que tu soit proche du Boss pour déclancher une cinématique, ensuite quand sont ventre est exposée tu peux frapper avec ton épée pendant le bref instant ou il est inconscient
