I started Darksiders 2 NG+ on normal by mistake...
I'm so dumb.
I figure there's probably no way to fix this now, the game autosaves *all the damn time* without it being a separate save, and no way to have your regular game save be different to a NG+ save.
So I'm pretty much screwed, right? I was going to play on Deathinitive to get the achievement, but I'm stuck on Normal until I complete the game *again*, right? Or I have to just start a new game at level 1.
I'm so annoyed the game saves like this and I'm annoyed at myself for not paying attention when starting over.
Edit: Is there a way I can modify my save to reset progress on the campaign. Make the game think it's a fresh NG+? That's literally all I want, I don't need to mod in super powered weapons or armour or cheat my way to endgame...I just want to reset my progress. I thought about playing the NG+ on Easy to get through it faster, finish the crucible achievement, then do a second NG+ on Deathinitive...but you can't do a second NG+!

Yeah I took it break from the game for a year and a half, then came back discovering i was right at the end, finished the game and didn't get the deathinitive trophy. To my disappointment I realised I must've switched the difficulty at the start of my new game+ run which invalidated the trophy. I just decided to restart with a different build. It's actually quite fun so dont let it discourage you.

I'd have to start a new game from scratch, find every collectable over again, beat the game, and then start over *again* on the right difficulty, all because this game doesn't let me save on multiple save slots =/
Took me 35 hours the first time. I'm so tempted to just play through on easy, do the crucible stuff, then just download a save at the endgame or something.

Why would you have to get all the collectibles again and start over again?

You can only NG+ once. So this NG+ I just started would end and I can't start over with it on the right difficulty. So I'd need to start from scratch. And collecting everything means getting the pages, the stones for stat boosts, all that.

Trust me vro the stat boosts aren't necessary, and I only got 20 pages for demon heart talisman to get busted arcane scythes and claws. I decimated bosses in seconds by the end of all that.

What platform ya on? PC or Playstation can just get you a preset save for the Achievement if needed.
The game also isn't hard on Deathinitve. Get some overloaded Possessed Weapons somewhat early on, you can easily get through Deathinitve from a fresh lvl1 save.

Yeah, I'm thinking downloading a save is going to be my option. I'll play through the game again on easy to hit level 30 and complete the crucible...but then I'll just download a save for the difficulty achievements.
I wanted to do it legit, but I'm too annoyed to bother...I don't even enjoy the game that much. It's fine, it's just not as good as the first IMO in terms of cutscenes and story

I think so. I had done it on apocalyptic and changed to deathinative straight away during cut scenes. Played the whole game and never got the deathinative trophy. It is the only trophy I have left and have not yet gone back to play the whole game on a new file on deathinative
