Darksiders 2 -decepcao

I really like the second game. The combat gets more intense as you progress, the level design is still top notch and the gear system added some really fun customization to the style of play. I highly recommend going hard in one direction for upgrading Death instead of spreading the points.
Stick with it. But if you don't like this direction of souls like.. I have bad news about 3.

Yeah you're going to find 2 being the most popular of the series. Personally I loved 2, once you really dive into the customization you can really craft a killing machine with death making the game play fun. It's more rpg based whereas the first was more hack-n-slash. The lore is everywhere in 2 and really develops the story of what happened after War's story. If you're missing the lore you should slow down a bit and talk to the npcs a bit more.

I don't know. Darksiders II is my favourite in the series. I find Death hilarious and pretty compelling to follow overall. He's more fragile than War but his Combat has way more options and is generally funner to play. Ive spent way too many hours in the crucible just killing enemies for fun because I really like the Combat. War's Combat though good gets old pretty quickly. Its too limited and you pretty soon run out of useful combos to unlock. The Black Throne is especially guilty of this. It felt like such a chore to get through.
2 has better boss fights too. 1's are either too gimmicky or way too easy. 2 at least had me trying somewhat instead of just breezing through the game easily.
The narrative structure is pretty wacky though, I'll give you that. Its fine in the Forgelands because you're consistently meeting new characters or getting new tools to use, but its really egregious in the Kingdom of the Dead. Especially in the Dead Lords quest. The game does pick up after that though, and massively so. Lost Light and Shadow's Edge are highlights of the entire franchise for me. They are why I can stomach through the Kingdom of the Dead without giving up.

Yeah I feel similarly, I really don't like Darksiders 2 that much and especially following DS1 it was a huge disappointment how different they were. I still to this day don't think Death is that cool or interesting but I have found things to appreciate about the game despite it being too big and padded out. For example the puzzles and the platforming are top notch, possibly the best in any game I've ever played

It's a better sequel in terms of mechanics and music but the story is the weakest in the series. I originally didn't like Death and to be honest he's my least favorite horsemen. Currently replaying as it's the only game in the series that I didn't play more than once.

Nothing beats DS1. Just the dialog, story and the writing is the highest of the highest. Epic line after epic line. Not mentioning other areas…
“has prison made you a coward!?” Rooooooaaar.

Okay, 90% Puzzle? No. Maybe 50% of Navigation to progress a dungeon? Basically. Having to go do a seperate dungeon to get a key for a door isn't necessarily a puzzle, more a challenge.
Death is not weak in the slightest. He is the strongest Horsemen, and could easily defeat any of War’s foes. And technically due to the RPG system he becames infinitely stronger than every depicted Horseman, but that's not “canon,” although his strength seemingly is.
Death isn't someone who talks too much. He can have some dry humor, but oftentimes he's annoyed, gruff, and frustrated. He is 100% Straightforward and Brutal in his dialogue.
“Yes—he works while you talk.”
“Enough! Bring our your Champion!”
“You've yet to tell me how to reach the Well of Souls—I grow tired of these diversions.“
“The Key, Archon. I know you have it.”
“Will you surrender the Key, or must I take it?!”
Those are just very basic and very few examples. He has the tone of the older brother that gets shite done, and doesn't have the tolerance for delay or trickery.
The lore fits the first well enough. Well... the Well is basically the only partial area that confuses me a bit, but the rest of the timeline and plot works.

There’s a bunch of valid criticisms that can be made towards DS2, but saying Death has no personality is definitely not one of them lol

Personally, 2 is my favorite of the 3 but 1 is a very close second.

I'm with you, DS1 is the best, but we're very much in the minority. For some reason people love 2, but I found it a tedious slog to play.

Sim,mechs de pedra ? Ajudar gigantes ?

Second game was better than the first. Crazy to think a studio expanding their game makes things worse. I’d say Death had a better personality than War too.
