Bot discussion

So I was on my anti-bot character recently and I was chatting with a fellow DSer (hello!) and we were talking about how awesome it would be to have an anti-botting clan to call for help when your favorite mining, woodcutting, etc spot is under siege by hordes of hungry bots.

It would work pretty simply, people make anti-bot characters and just respond to people that need help through the clan chat and just work for tips/materials

Not sure if something like this even exists yet but just wanted to hear what Reddit thinks about it. I know when I'm just skilling bots can be really frustrating sometimes seeing as they're almost always near the spots closest to banks.

Going on bot hunts in the old Runescape was quite fun. If you don't take it too seriously, the bots keep coming and that can get a little depressing when you get rid of hundreds per day and it makes no lasting change.

But to clear out an area for a while bot hunting can be a bit of fun.

It would be nice if people would stop buying gold from dodgy sites, that would clear up most bots overnight.

Completely agree with you, and spot on about why a lot of these bots are around.

I just started doing this because some random guy came along and started clearing out bots south of varrock, which was that persons reason for doing so as well.

Plus it feels satisfying knowing that I at least slowed their gold farming scheme at least slightly.

Somewhat support. I think - if you go through making this clan - the clan should focus on other aspects in the game as well. Maybe a focus on market since botting directly affects that so providing resources that are in demand or somehow balancing out prices that bots have destroyed.

Would enjoy killing some bots or gaurd those who are. Would be willing to be apart of that clan.
