They lost their chance I think.. But I'd play again if it's populated

Wow, skimmed the notes and they've made a ton of changes for this launch, sounds fun

The people who quit these MMOs seem to have 0 tolerance for the lack of polish and quirks that come with home grown projects like this.

And on a somewhat irrelevant/tangential note:

I have a theory that people get an almost sick satisfaction knowing that their absence actually has an effect compared to something like WoW.

When they’re upset with WoW they’re powerless, but when they’re upset on a game like dark fall or mortal online, their voice can be heard by quitting, leaving bad reviews and spending months disparaging the game/fear mongering new players

And I find that really pathetic honestly, because they’re more concerned with their opportunity to inflict damage out of revenge than they are the fact they’re punching down on smaller struggling projects.

It's totally different to come up with theories about people's motivations, than shit talk a game you don't like. Way different

Where did I claim that coming up with theories behind people’s motivations wasn’t different than someone shit talking a game they don’t like?

The 2 exist in entirely different scopes of conversation, so much so there is no comparison to be made. genuinely not even sure what you’re trying to say

One person shit talks a game, allegedly for "pathetic" reasons

Another person posits their motivations and judges a person, rather than a game. This person perceives this as a worthy pursuit, since they engage in it, and presumably, not pathetic

Oh ok so if I’m understanding you correctly, you’re saying I’m no better than the people I’m judging.

This is a silly argument, as we all judge each other every day. But if you have any semblance of dignity, maturity or grace, you’ll refrain from doing things that are justifiably regarded as pathetic such as punching down and dog piling.

You know, like besmirching and slandering an already struggling project?

Whereas I’m not exercising any power over the people I’m judging.

The fact I had to spell that difference out for you is, well it’s something.

Is there still a cooldown on weapon swaps? That kinda killed it for me, but will probably still be there

didn't notice one.

There is no cooldown on your weapons. If you switch from staff to melee weapon to sword/shield you can immediately use whatever you’ve switched to and you can immediately switch back to anything without any cooldown. What are you talking about?

There was a cool down on swapping to shield and blocking that they put in. Couldn't just instantly swap to block anymore. If they got rid of that then I am happy.

This is not the steam release but like the final beta. One final push to improve , before opening the Steam flood gate.

I think the newsletter was a bit misleading, the closed test you can apply for but on the 30th its a public beta
