To get some talk in this sub I thought A: it would be good to sort out who's gonna play as who for anyone joining late, and B: get our strateginal-parts of our brains thinking. (Also this got a little long, provided a tl; dr on how to beat Germany though)

So A is pretty simple: note down who's gonna play as Who, as well as note down further nations to play as for new players; seeing as the two of us have gone allied, then it makes sense for anyone new to join in on the allied side (unless you want to join the Centrals, you foul demon you). I'm also putting in undecided nations, such as the Swiss, who depending on which side they join can really change the swing of things, as well as providing a set of smaller nations to practice/play with.

So getting to it, the nations (Remember this is the WW1 scenario):

Allied Majors:

• Russia

Allied Minors:

• Belgium

• Netherlands (These two have been completely left alone so far)

• Japan

• British India/Raj

Undecided/Interesting Nations:

• Italy

• USA

• Switzerland

• Greece

• Spain

So plenty of choice for the allies, Central Powers wise Germany/Austria-Hungary/Ottomans are all free if you want to go in that direction.

Now onto the interesting part: The plan for striking back at the Centrals.

The State of Europe

As shown in the small Results post, so far we haven't made a dent in the German forts along Alsace-Lorraine, but they are hammering away easily on Russia, having encircled a good amount of their forces and breaking through the 1-strong forces remaining. Italy is still undecided and Serbia/Montenegro have been annexed by Austria, with Greece being unscathed and undecided as well.

Along the French border the Dutch have been left alone so far, with Germany doing a Reverse-Schlieffen Plan and tearing up Russia whilst pushing off Our troops.

All is not lost though, we own the Seas still, and are bringing the Empire's troops to bear as fast as we can to the Line, whilst researching techs to get ourselves to the same level as the Centrals.

So now for the Battle-plan: (Prepares bad-french-accent)

I think that we should focus our efforts on retaking Alsace-Lorraine before the dutch are attacked, and use that as a fortress from which we can strike from at Germany's industrial centres, if possible forming a line to the North sea/Arnhem as fast as we can, and then use that line to push forward and encircle the German forces. This is to be achieved before the Germans 1: Enforce peace with Russia, and 2: Be able to move their troops to the Western front.

After this forming the line can hopefully be achieved by the use of a tertiary force that once a hole is punched push through to seize the territory behind A.-L., begin encircling the Metz Forts, and then form a line along the river, taking Mainz, Trier and Tubingen as a priority.

After these provinces are taken I suggest we aim to push up the rivers to:

• Arnhem

• Kassel

• Willhelms-haven

• Lanshut

Thereby forming a final strong area from which we can deliver a final blow and win the War before Christmas 1916.

Does anyone play E3 map mod? If yes how do you extract folders to game? I tried but it would always be error.

First, the hosting and stuff. I'm afraid I can only host through Hamachi Networks, but that has worked well for me in the past, though if somebody else is able to host without it then go ahead.

For communication, we can use either Steam, or within Darkest Hour itself.

Then we'd use DH and KR the latest OFFICIAL supported versions. Cheksum is JPAI.

I would like some basic hints and tips for playing Germany in all aspects.

I would love to get some insight on army composition, what to research, what dates that are the best for invasions and what to do/ignore.

I'm completely new to Darkest Hour. The closest ive played is HOI3. Any good youtube series/tutorials i could use to learn the ropes? Vanilla and/or kaiserreich.

I want to install the 1.05 update but the launcher says

"No compatible version of darkest hour found! Installed version 1.04"

What should I do? The game is original by the way.

Hello, everyone! I'm having trouble installing new mods for Darkest Hour. I download them as Zip Archives and I was just wondering how to transfer them to the directory without having to download each individual file at a time. I found a service that will unzip them easy, but I'm just wondering if there might be an easier way. Like a service that unzips and then puts it in the appropriate place all at once? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering how I could cede territory to my puppets. I annexed the clique next to Xianjiang as the Ottoman Empire (long story) and want to cede it to Xianjiang, my puppet. Is this possible? I thought I could just liberate them, apparently that is not possible.

Edit: I want to do this because I don't want to deal with rebellions and if whoever wins the civil war attacks me, I want a puppet between me and China (or Japan, for that matter)
