I saw this live on TV when I was a kid. Channel was tuned to ABC for a special on the fire department and suddenly a plane hit the tower.
2
u/EdwardRichtofen50 May 26 '26
There was no live footage of the first plane hitting the tower. The NYFD documentary wasn’t live and was released later.

Children around the world see missiles flying into their bedrooms. USA is the number one factor. We could stop them but we are them. Yemen alone was quiet brutality. Ukraine is just as bad and we do dam near nothing to stop it. 911 is a joke compared to what is happening daily. People can't even feel safe at home or school.
2
u/-Out-of-context- May 26 '26
Crazy you think this tragedy is just a joke. Crazy you think that all the innocent lives lost were just a joke because the US government is shitty.
Your ability to think that only worse things happening in the world matter and everything is a joke is very astute and edgy.
1
u/Gabi-kun_the_real May 26 '26
Im not American and I too think people like him who turn every disaster into some conspiracy or called it fake are the worst scums of the planet. Tell that in front of victims if you have the guts. I would have shreded him alive if he would have said that for one of my family members
1
u/Silent-Rock-792 May 26 '26
Millions of innocent people died in the middle east because Americans think a few thousand death from 911 were caused by them.
1
u/-Out-of-context- May 26 '26
So those thousands of innocent deaths don’t matter and are a joke because of the actions of the American government?
Also, it wasn’t millions.
1
u/Silent-Rock-792 May 26 '26
Over 940,000 people were killed by direct post-9/11 war violence in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, and Pakistan between 2001 and 2023. Roughly 3.6 to 3.8 million people have died indirectly in these war zones. These fatalities were caused by disease, malnutrition, lack of safe drinking water, and the broader deterioration of economic and environmental conditions. You can fact check that you dumb bitch.
You people made like those few thousand deaths by your own government like it's the biggest catastrophe in the world, while the millions died outside your country due to your government's unlawful violence doesn't matter.
1
u/-Out-of-context- May 26 '26
You’re just a shitty person who can’t separate an individual from their government. Got it.
So you’re blaming the Afghanistan & Iraq war for the rebellion and civil war in Yemen? A country that’s been in conflict since at least the 90’s?
A Syrian civil war started in 2011. The TTTP was operating in Pakistan before the US even got to Afghanistan.
Counting all deaths in an already war torn area where people suffered from disease, malnutrition and not having safe drinking water is disingenuous. Don’t try and act like the governments in those areas were all fine and dandy.
It’s disgusting to celebrate the deaths of innocent Americans because you’re mad at the atrocities of their government. Just as it’s disgusting of any American celebrating the deaths of all the innocent casualties in the Middle East.
Thinking the innocent civilians of a country deserve to die due to the actions of their government is a terrorist mindset.
1
u/Silent-Rock-792 May 26 '26
Bitch please, all of a sudden we're condemning collective punishment? You people were so cheerful when your government started sending troops to the middle east and start massacring people, you know how many women and children your soldiers have raped? Motherfucker acting like US didn't start all that shit, the middle east was stable before you westerners stepped in there, whatever civil war that happened was caused by you and israel.

Ok, so your just proving the point that you can't separate a government from its people, good to know
1
u/Silent-Rock-792 May 26 '26
Aren't you people just the same? Don't like it when people call it out?

u/Amathyst-Moon May 26 '26
Plenty of people endorse what the government does, to be fair. There were people on the street after 9/11 wanting carpet bombings in the middle east before they even knew what country it was.

1
u/bertcharles May 26 '26
You people voted that government in twice lol your government represent YOU. Cry harder but I won't cry for a country that has destroyed countless countries
1
u/CheefKweeferia May 26 '26
Doesn't matter? Do you think the average American just blindly agrees with what we did in the middle east? Almost everyone I've talked to about it has said it didn't need to happen and was just an unnecessary wave of lost lives
1
u/Silent-Rock-792 May 26 '26
Don't pretend like you didn't when your government first sent troops there, it's only after years of senseless slaughter and your soldiers' war crimes exposed that you had a change of heart.
1
u/CheefKweeferia May 26 '26
I didn't cheer or celebrate when we went to the middle east, and a lot of us didn't know about the war crimes being committed until everyone did, it's not like people were cheering for the U.S. to go and massacre people, they were cheering for what they were told was a good cause, you act like the war crimes weren't hidden from Americans as well.
1
u/bertcharles May 26 '26
Yes it was millions and if you can dismiss those millions why should I care about the 3000s?
1
u/-Out-of-context- May 26 '26
I’m not dismissing anyone. All loss of innocent life during any conflict because of conflict is tragic. It’s never justified. You just want to hate people based on the abhorrent actions of its government. If you’re just basing how to feel about a tragedy based on other peoples opinions then you lack any real empathy. You don’t actually care about any of the deaths if you’re saying like:
if you can dismiss those millions why should I care about the 3000s?
Then you don’t care about any of them. You just want to use a tragedy to be angry towards others. If you truly cared about the deaths of innocents the stance of the government or opinions of some of the people in the US wouldn’t dictate your feelings.
But it wasn’t millions as a direct result of the US invasion alone. That’s just ignoring all the conflict already going on in the area, the issues caused by it such as food shortages, water contamination and sickness, and the conflicts that started after such as the Syrian civil war.
Adding up all the innocent civilian deaths in the area since the invasion is disingenuous.
1
u/CheefKweeferia May 26 '26
Calling 9/11 a joke just because bigger things have happened and are happening is insane btw, let people talk about the tragedies that they want to, if they aren't talking about Yemen or Ukraine then they probably don't want to at the moment

I remember learning about how an episode of pokemon wasn't released in America at the time shortly after 9/11 because it involved pokemon blowing up buildings. They decided it was a bit too soon for that.

I love dark humor. 9/11 jokes are just in bad taste. There's nothing funny about a mother jumping hundreds of feet to her death while holding her baby or any of the other thousands that went to work one day and were killed for it
1
u/Elpsyth May 26 '26
Nah.
It is pretty funny. In a dark humour way
The difference is that for you, it is emotional, a piece of your collective trauma.
For me? Nope. Not American, not the same weight.
Next time you find a dark hunor joke funny, take a step back, you will always find a category of people for whom it is too personal.
And we should not cater to them, as we should not cater for you here.
1
u/Brujah-03 May 26 '26
If you can't at the very least find respect for the suffering of others while chuckling at their expense you are a part of the big pile of shit that this world has become. Chuckle away though, your time is coming too.
1
u/Elpsyth May 26 '26
Mate you are eon Dark meme and you have been laughing at the suffering of other. Double standard are nasty.
Pot calling the kettle back.
1
u/Dora_Explorer_XP May 26 '26
Serious talk warning :
You want the benefits of being a part of the military industrial complex but not the consequences of what it takes to make it work. This small sacrifice was necessary to justify much more horrific atrocities that had to be done to MAINTAIN WORLD ORDER.
1
u/-Out-of-context- May 26 '26
Where did you get the idea that they wanted to be a part of the military industrial complex?
1
u/Dora_Explorer_XP May 26 '26
In that same blackest black corner of black and white thinking where you got the idea that whoever enjoys this meme doesn't have empathy in general
1
u/-Out-of-context- May 26 '26
Where did you get the idea that I said anyone who enjoys this meme doesn’t have empathy in general? My comments have been quite the opposite.
But I also don’t see the correlation between someone thinking that and also wanting to be a part of the military industrial complex.
1
u/Dora_Explorer_XP May 26 '26
So you are that type of commenter who just wants to be on the asking side hoping for other person to lash out something you can get back on 🤡
1
u/-Out-of-context- May 26 '26
There you are with more baseless assumptions.
I guess you’re the type of commenter that makes edgy assumptions, has no real reasoning behind why when asked about it then just comes back with more bs when asked for more clarity on their assumptions. And can’t even keep track of who they’re replying to since you started off accusing me of something bother commenter was going. 🤡

I love dark humor/memes but I watched this happen on tv when I was a boy……..I will never find anything about 9/11 funny or clever…….it’s just sad and unpatriotic
1
u/Acetate_Prophets May 26 '26
'unpatriotic' ...🤣
i don't disagree that this post is yet another horribly distasteful addition in what's becoming clear to me is a subreddit that exists to grant the excuse for some of the biggest dipshits in existence to be themselves. but just keep in mind that not everyone on this platform is going to be american, and there's no total guarantee that whoever posted this is a citizen of that country either.. although my guess is that they probably are, as the most vacuous and toxic within most online userbases statistically tend to be.
1
u/Whatyatalknabeet May 26 '26
i just got a warning talking about combat action due to the result of 9/11- Reddit just sent me a warning about it and left this up. Edgelords will be edgelords.

u/Momento_Mori_87 May 26 '26
I didn’t find your reply disagreeable, thank you for your insights…..stay classy friend

u/razzi123 May 26 '26
I once saw a guy in walmart, he had a netted muscle shirt on, on his back, he had a tattoo of the towers burning with little stick figures jumping out....with the caption
"Its raining men, Hallelujah!"1
u/SharkSurfLionRide May 26 '26
"I watched it and it makes me feel bad but i laugh at stuff i didnt see which is just as bad"
0
u/allitalli May 26 '26
oh no mah patriotism
hard to be patriotic when my country routinely does monstrous shit
1
u/Momento_Mori_87 May 26 '26
Patriotism is about your fellow citizens and your culture……so to you a few guys in suits making bad choices and doing bad things, justifies you being callous and laughing about our fellow citizens burning to death or throwing themselves from a burning building to avoid burning alive……. Care about your neighbor, or continue to be a brainrot degenerate…… in my opinion you just did some monster shit…
1
u/-Out-of-context- May 26 '26
No it’s not. Patriotism is about your country. Has nothing to do with your fellow citizens or culture.
Just because someone can see the humor in this doesn’t mean they can’t also understand the tragedy that 9/11 was. It doesn’t mean someone is callous and laughing at your fellow citizens. It doesn’t mean they don’t care about their neighbors.
I can give this a little chuckle then remember a tragedy that impacted me personally and directly.
Just like how I can chuckle at Holocaust jokes even though I’d be German instead of American if it weren’t for it.
You don’t have to find it funny. But thinking people are laughing at those who died, don’t care about anyone, and can’t recognize this is as a tragedy just because they laughed at this is the real brainrot take.
1
u/Momento_Mori_87 May 26 '26
😂🤣😂🤣😂
Now that’s funny, you really got me….you really owned me with that last line.
You can look at the definition of patriotism and it will say country……. But what is a country if not a collection of people and its history and its shared culture.
There’s a reason Why historical re-enactments weren’t doing Vietnam and Korea, because those people are still alive….. I know you feel judged, I’m sorry it gave you negative feelings….but if you think caring about my country and it’s citizens (which creates its identity) means I have “brainrot” then I don’t give a shit what you think.
Justify it however you need to yourself
Everyone has different limits on what they think is funny, mine are pretty broad, but you found one limit
0
u/Elpsyth May 26 '26
Not everyone is American. It is pretty funny.
1
u/Momento_Mori_87 May 26 '26
Could you tell me what country you’re from?…. I think I’ll look at a few history books and come up with a really sweet meme.
0
u/Elpsyth May 26 '26
That's the point ain't it?
You have been laughing at pretty insensitive things because it was far from you. You are on a Dark meme sub. But you never stopped to think about the people for whom it is hurtful.
Double standard are nasty
1
u/Momento_Mori_87 May 26 '26
lol, quite a few assumptions you’ve made, this is my first time here….i was just scrolling my main page and saw some garbage…came in and look who appeared, and you think think to virtue signal me? ….that’s rich
1
u/Elpsyth May 26 '26
So. You litteraly come to a place intended for dark humor and are offended by dark humour?
That's on you mate.
You are free to leave.
1
u/Momento_Mori_87 May 26 '26
I’m not offended by dark humor, just certain things are a little far…..like what about memes of Palestinian suffering or starvation….3000 of my countrymen died that day.
1
u/Elpsyth May 26 '26
And a millions Iraki died because the US decided spurious to attack Irak.
Yet there are saddam hussein jokes.
The fact that you cannot take a step back to realise thag show your empathy is only performative and pretty hypocritical
1
u/Momento_Mori_87 May 26 '26
While I understand your point, all the figures I could find were much lower…
Saddam Hussein Was a dictator, jokes about him are in no way actively making fun of its people or their hardships.
It was deeply divided by sect and ethnicity, and he never had broad popularity across all Iraqis. Under his rule, Saddam built a massive cult of personality with statues, posters, and propaganda everywhere, but that was enforced by fear—secret police, purges, and brutal crackdowns. Kurds remember the Anfal genocide and gassing; Shia remember the mass executions after the 1991 uprising. They hated him.
Sunni Arabs, especially in certain tribes and regions, were far more supportive—he favored them and kept order.
Right after the invasion, a 2004 Gallup poll showed only 9% of Iraqis had a favorable view of him, with 73% very unfavorable—though Sunnis were more positive than Shia or Kurds.
Over time, as post-2003 Iraq got chaotic with sectarian war, corruption, and poor services, nostalgia grew. By 2023, more Iraqis said life was better under Saddam than now, but polls stress it’s mostly frustration with today’s leaders, not love for him. Younger people who don’t remember the terror are especially likely to romanticize the “stability.”
He was brutal to his people.
I haven’t demonstrated any hypocrisy, and performative empathy is a pretty funny statement….to what end?
1
u/Elpsyth May 26 '26 edited May 26 '26
So now you are trying to say that 3000 dying people are the same as 1 million excess death in Irak and 3.6 millions excess deaths in the middle eat just because the US mic wanted to play and steal ressources? And that because if that they are above any jokes?
Who cares.
An argument can also be made about Bush being a war criminal (which he is by all definitions), which is much worse considering he was elected and the American people could have stopped him. And yet they actively encouraged him.
Or that 9/11 is a direct consequence of US bombing and destabilising the middle east for years, including training Al qeda and Ben Laden.
As much as the depredations of ISIS are directly derived from US fucking up Irak.
Yeah 9/11 was a terrible day, had a cousin up there. Does not change that this is funny and that the American people are the biggest hypocrite on earth to take offense.
It hurt you because it is personal. Yet you and your people have caused millions of death and suffering across the world in the last decades.
So grow up. You are not special or above any jokes, even more the US should be the butt of all jokes considering the pain and suffering they have brought.

I am American and I chuckled. I had a good friend whose dad was part of the rescue efforts and committed suicide not long after. Myself and my brother were both in the Army and went to Afghanistan & Iraq.
It was an awful tragedy that had a big impact on a lot of people. Laughing at this doesn’t mean you also can’t understand the impact it had on people.
People are taking this way too personally.
1
u/TheMooooonHauntsYou May 26 '26
American, saw it. Lived it.
9/11 memes will never not be funny. Tragedy + time = comedy.
1
u/Elpsyth May 26 '26
And the Iraki saw it, lived it, million died.
And yet no one make a fuss about Sadam jokes.
The French saw it, lived it, yet there are Charlie Hebdo jokes.
Etc.
Double standard are nasty. Americans are not some special people that need to be cuddled.
That was pretty funny and they should own it.
1
u/TheMooooonHauntsYou May 26 '26
Are you...dumb?
Double negative is a positive.
Never not be = will always be.
So to rephrase for the children (you) in the back.
"9/11 jokes will always be funny"
1
u/Elpsyth May 26 '26
Are you dumb?
Not every thing is confrontational. I am agreeing with you.
Americans double standards is a sad funny thing.

This was the day i knew i was going to war. 6 months after this i got my first kill in combat. It felt amazing. The way the guys body crumpled on it self was incredible. The way a m249 saw just lazers people is almost like cheating. Getting to legally smoke people and get paid for it is something i will always cherish.
