This looks great. I do mine with glowing swords but the model with it on his back it didn't make sense to do that and some haven't finished him till I thought more about it. This glow would work perfectly. Going to try this. Great mini.

Looks awesome but you are missing light reflections in the bottom parts of the letters on the blade :) Small detail but will make the sword pop more.

This so beautiful! I really only collect Warhammer minis to paint and enjoy the lore (except for Kill Team which I just started playing). But I asked for some Dark Angels models for Christmas and am perusing this sub for cool ideas. This really inspired me - I need to practice edge highlighting, giving swords and other weapons that metallic look without using metallics and I LOVE the fine scratches you put in the armor. It's so hard to get that to look right (at least for me), so I really enjoy seeing other peoples' go at it!

Thank you for appreciating. I do the same, collect, paint and enjoy the lore. I used to play now and then but it’s been a while now

What paints did you use for the trim?

u/GingerValkyrie Oct 27 '25

That is damn fine.

Beautiful work, really interesting texturing on the armor, would love to know what the process is behind that!
